Senior Continuous Improvement Manager

Drives continuous improvement initiatives across engineering operations by providing supervision and technical leadership to employees and supervisors in the department. The Senior Continuous Improvement Manager is responsible for analyzing, designing, and implementing manufacturing and business process improvements that increase capacity, reduce lead-time, reduce the work-in-process, improve fill-rates, and improve process flow and efficiency.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Implements staffing changes and identifying resource requirements, writing justifications for additional personnel, obtaining approval for changes, and coordinating the selection process with Human Resources.

2. Develops department teams by assessing knowledge gaps and identifying appropriate training.

3. Engages with internal and external customers, by meeting regularly, responding to requests and explaining procedures.

4. Interprets, designs, and executes policies that affect work processes and personnel within the assigned organizational unit.

5. Identifies opportunities to drive improved efficiency and productivity as well as lead the development and execution of implementation plans.

6. Ensures compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory audits.

7. Interprets internal and external indicators by reviewing reports and newsletters, reading organizational literature, meeting with peers, and reading departmental reports. Apply insights to identify trends and improvement opportunities.

8. Establishes and monitors department area budget through regular analysis of cost and spending.

9. Implement Lean methodologies to optimize value streams and eliminate waste.

10. Assure CI plans are linked to Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), goals and annual productivity targets.

11. Identify and track cost improvement projects.

12. Other responsibilities as assigned.

Quality System Responsibilities:

1. Assures that appropriate resources (personnel, tools, etc.) are maintained in order to ensure Quality System compliance and adherence to Intricon Quality Policy.

2. Establishes and promotes a work environment that supports the Quality Policy and Quality Management System.

Management Responsibilities

1. May lead a group or team of employees in the achievement of organizational goals. Guide, coach, direct, and develop direct reports, and if applicable, drive those practices throughout their organization.

2. Foster a diverse workplace that enables all participants to contribute to their full potential in pursuit of organizational objectives.

3. May direct and control the activities and budget of one or more functional areas, divisions, product groups, projects/programs and/or operations.

4. Monitor and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures (e.g. federal/country and regulatory requirements).

5. Models and supports organization’s goals and values

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent experience

Experience:

  • 8+ years progressive Continuous Improvement experience within the manufacturing / medical device industry
  • Project Management experience

Skills:

  • Proficient in MS Office (i.e. Word, Excel) and Outlook
  • LEAN Six Sigma Certification (i.e. Green or Black Belt), preferred
  • Highly motivated, creative and results driven personality (to drive changes)
  • Solid analytical, problem solving and continuous improvement skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills communicating with employees and management
  • Self-starter able to work with minimum oversight of the department manager at times
  • Must be able to multi-task effectively and direct one’s efforts to the tasks requiring the most immediate attention

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $125,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
