We are currently looking for a Sr. Benefits Administrator to join our team in Bloomfield Hills, MI!

What are the responsibilities of the Sr. Benefits Administrator?

  • Collaborate with the HR Manager and Chief HR Officer for implementation of benefits programs.
  • Partner with the CHRO to direct benefits broker on evaluating benefits plans and vendors to identify those that present the best value.
  • Design, recommend and implement new benefits programs. Examine possible plan designs and benefits cost changes.
  • Serve as primary contact for plan vendors and third-party administrators for billing and open enrollment set up.
  • Oversee the 1095C Reporting process for all Company.
  • Lead the Open Enrollment set up process for all Company.
  • Collect data and prepare payroll reports, as necessary.
  • Partner with Payroll Team for reconciliation process for benefits.
  • Coordinate data transfers with the Chief HR Officer to support external contacts for services, premiums, and plan administration.
  • Make recommendations to improve internal processes to reduce costs and increase efficiency.
  • Establish and maintain files and records pertaining to the benefits participation.
  • Document and maintain administrative procedures for assigned benefits processes.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations.
  • Manage benefit enrollments, QMCSO responses, terminations, life event changes, etc.
  • Oversee maintenance of team member benefits files and updates to team member payroll records.
  • Gather team member data, process monthly billings, and prepare check requests or wire authorizations for payment of group plan premiums.
  • Collaborate with all Benefits Administrators and Communication Manager for communication tools to enhance team members’ understanding of the Company’s benefits package and meet disclosure requirements.
  • Provide support to group benefits participants.
  • Effectively communicate with team members in a timely manner to respond to correspondence for team member benefits related issues and concerns.
  • Process Worker’s Compensation documentation and submission of claims.
  • In collaboration with our third-party administrator, administer and track all leave of absences including Family Medical Leave, Internal Medical Leave of Absence, Workers’ Compensation, and personal leaves, and coordinate the administration of any Short- and Long-term disability benefits.

What are the role requirements?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or another related field is required.
  • Previous experience in benefits administration is required.
  • Experience using UKG or another HR information system is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills and a thorough knowledge of plan designs. Ability to evaluate and make judgment on the plan’s administration.
  • Previous skills and ability in managing projects.
  • Knowledge of benefits contract language.
  • Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements, both adopted and pending, affecting team member benefits programs.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office programs.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Ability to be organized, detail-oriented, and to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and respectfully with others.
  • Must possess exceptional organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to balance and prioritize simultaneous projects and tasks.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Must present the ability to execute job duties under stressful circumstances such as last-minute deadlines or other difficult situations.
  • Must be willing to travel to various locations via private or public transportation.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Regular attendance, work ethic and strong interpersonal skills are required for success in this position.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
