A new division, of an established aerospace company, is looking to add a motivated quality assurance technician for our heat treat department. The position will require the person to be hands-on and spend extensive time on the manufacturing floor while assisting in establishing and maintaining the Nadcap certification for heat treatment. The Technician will also have support from the quality assurance departments from the two established divisions.
The position is classified as full-time, Exempt. Typical days and hours of work are Monday to Friday 7am to 4PM. This position may require occasional long hours and weekend work.
- Update and maintain procedures in regards to pyrometry and heat treatment in accordance with AMS-2750 and Nadcap
- Perform appropriate test and surveys on furnace
- Generate / Review / Approve TUS, SAT, and Calibration reports in accordance with AMS-2750. Ensure compliance with NADCAP, Customer Specifications and AS9100 requirements.
- Ensure measuring equipment is calibrated and usable per quality standards
- Be a focal point for calibration for all heat treat related equipment and instruments. Maintain associated logs, forms, and other documentation integral to the quality management system
- Inspect furnace for maintenance needs and perform/assist in furnace maintenance
- Train heat treat personnel.
- Program furnace cycles for optimum use of furnace
- Update and maintain procedures in regards to pyrometry and heat treatment
- Identify possible areas for improvement in quality assurance processes
REQUIREMENTS:
- 2 Years Associate Degree (Bachelor’s Degree Preferred)
- Ability to use a logical process-based approach for problem solving and process improvements
- Experience in a quality system as an inspector or technician (experience in aerospace manufacturing industry is preferred)
- Experience drafting reports and organizing data
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Ability to analyze and interpret technical information.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in elevated work areas that require climbing
- Must be able to speak fluent English
