Organizational Relationships:
Position reports to Quality Control Manager.
Summary of Functions:
Monitor quality assurance activities from the receipt of raw materials to processing into finished product and ensuring product is within guidelines and QC specifications.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inspect the quality of incoming fruit loads as well as testing such loads.
- Responsible for verifying as well as maintaining the Peracetic Acid concentration for Fruit Washing to meet FDA guidelines.
- Obtain and test all raw juice, WIP, oil, and finished products, using current lab testing methods and techniques, and verifying the results against internal and/or customer specifications.
- Calibrate, maintain, and use various laboratory equipment and instruments, such as Refractometers, pH meters, scales, and a spectrometer.
- Load, unload, dispatch, as well as receive tankers and/or other bulk juice containers.
- Track and verify juice in tanks in accordance with production needs and ensures that data is recorded on bulk manifest on an ongoing basis daily.
- Verify the presence of PPE, such as hairnets, facemasks, gloves, etc. used for all plant employees and stocking them when applicable.
- Updates bottling board daily and as needed throughout the shift.
- Obtain retain and micro samples for all bottled and juice tanker samples.
- Responsible for monitoring and filling hand dip and footbaths as needed, throughout the shift in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Verify and record the temperature for juice tanks, the cooler, and the freezer on the appropriate documentation.
- Prep and distribute a blank grade out report to the production area.
- Record all results on respective paperwork and/or electronic platforms, such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Redzone, and/or Batchmaster to ensure HACCP guidelines are met.

Food Safety Requirements/Responsibilities:
- Comply with all Plant, State, and Federal OSHA, EPA, FDA, HACCP, cGMP, and SQF regulations/standards.
- Conduct all verification activities to assure finished product comply with food safety and quality specifications.
- Responsible for Non-GMO SGS Supply Chain Standards.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to comprehend the English language. Bi-lingual in Spanish is a plus.
- Basic computer skills (Excel/Word).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, detail oriented; able to put issues in context; able to work independently, good organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple/variety of tasks.
- Must be a decisive problem solver and work well as part of a team.
- Able to communicate professionally at all times.
- Ability to keep the Quality Assurance agenda as the top priority.
