Scope:

The Sorter inspects product against the engineering specifications.


Responsibility and Authority:

  • Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Follow Sort Work Instruction to assure compliance to all required product engineering specification.
  • Responsibility and authority to identify and remove non-conforming parts from the inventory.
  • Maintain and protect all company, supplier, and customer proprietary and confidential information.


Essential Functions:

  • Inspect each suspected non-conforming material to ensure meets engineering specifications by following Sorting Work Instructions.
  • Utilize measuring instruments (e.g., calibers, gages, etc.) to test component meets specifications.
  • Pack compliant components into boxes/totes.
  • Complete inspection documentation as instructed.
  • Successful completion of this job position’s Training Instruction Checklist.
  • Ensure compliance with Quality Management System and Environmental Management System.
  • Understand the process for containing nonconforming product and completing a RID.
  • When necessary may perform other typical duties.


Position Requirements:

  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Prefer previous hands-on factory experience.
  • Previous good work performance history, people skills and satisfactory attendance record.


Physical Requirements:

Will sit, stand, and use both hands and arms. Occasionally and lift up to 30 pounds. Operate pallet jacks. Will use both hands and arms to lift and use gages and hand tools. Must have adequate vision to read and understand written instructions and prints. Maintain regular attendance on the job and work required overtime schedules. Communicate in English both verbally and in writing.
