Quality Receiving Inspector

Employment Information

Inspector provides mechanical inspection of incoming components and materials; has a working knowledge of inspection; interprets inspection report data related to manufacturing requirements and issues non-conformance reports for defective components and materials.

Compensation:

$22 hourly

Responsibilities:

  • Possess general knowledge of electrical diagrams and physical inspection methods
  • Utilizing various inspection tools such as microohm meter, Insulation resistance testers, and thread gauges, checks dimensions/processes on parts or raw material to ensure compliance to manufacturing drawings/blueprints/specifications
  • Works closely with Quality Control Inspectors, Project Engineering, Quality Engineering, and Manufacturing to ensure that all manufacturing and inspection activities are performed in compliance with process work documents
  • Ensures that in-process inspections are completed per engineering specifications during the production process
  • Performs mechanical, visual, and dimensional inspections of parts using inspection hand tools
  • Create, oversee, and close out non-conformance reports for non-conforming materials and components
  • Manage inventory of quarantined products due to non-conformance
  • Communicate with buyers on quality issues
  • Attach correct labeling to the outside of cartons/pallets. Store products in the warehouse and do transactions to adjust inventory on the system
  • Must be able to work from blueprints for visual dimensional inspection of purchased or manufactured products utilizing measuring instruments
  • Will also perform out-of-box product audit inspections to establish procedures, on products such as transformers, vacuum switches, oil switches, bushings, insulators, and other electrical equipment

Qualifications:

  • Good computer skills, Misys knowledge is a plus
  • A minimum of 1 year in quality function or related field
  • Must be able to perform basic math in all units of measure and demonstrate ability to read and interpret documents and drawings
  • Must demonstrate ability to work effectively in a team setting, be flexible, and exhibit a willingness to learn/take on new tasks
  • Misys experience preferred
