Employment Information

The Quality Manager will work together with the Operations, Product and Process development teams, resolving bugs, defects, and other potential issues and ensuring that products meet customer specifications.

Essential Duties:

  • Develop and implement quality control processes and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.
  • Establish and maintain quality management systems, including document control, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and internal audit programs.
  • Develop and lead a team of quality engineers, supervisors and inspectors to conduct in-process and final product inspections, ensuring adherence to quality standards and specifications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and supply chain, to identify and resolve quality issues in a timely manner.
  • Analyze quality data and performance metrics to identify trends, root causes, and areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions to address non-conformities and improve product quality.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, such as lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and process optimization projects.
  • Provide quality-related training and support to employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Communicate quality objectives, performance metrics, and improvement initiatives to management and stakeholders.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:

  • To ensure the health and safety in the workplace and for the protection of our employees, wearing PPE is a requirement for some roles at PENA and may include equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, bump cap, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator.

Qualifications: Requirements - Required and/or Preferred

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably Mechanical Engineering), Quality Management, or a related field.
  • Preferred: Master's degree

Essential Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in quality management roles within battery manufacturing or other relevant high volume manufacturing industries.
  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949) and regulatory requirements (e.g., UL, CE, RoHS).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams including Quality Engineers and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • The ability to quickly learn the organization’s production processes and acclimate to those requirements.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Proven agility in all levels of work processes.
  • Able to make appropriate decisions when confronted with obstacles, think about them before acting, and consistently resolve issues in creative and effective ways.
  • Intuitive, adaptable, creative, and collaborative with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Collaborative nature with strong team building skills and willing to learn from and accept guidance from others.
  • Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Six-Sigma Black Belt, ASQ CQE or CQM certifications
