Employment Information

The Quality Engineer (QE) will be responsible for providing QE support for aero-derivative gas turbine programs. The QE will partner with Engineering, Procurement, and other cross-functional organizations to drive the business and its suppliers to achieve quality, cost, and delivery goals.

Job Summary

  • Perform first article inspections
  • Perform supplier source inspections
  • Perform supplier system audits and process compliance assessments
  • Implement effective corrective and preventive actions
  • Manage supplier and customer escapes
  • Develop, manage, present, and distribute quality metrics, such as NCM, supplier performance, escapes, etc., at monthly program reviews and Quality management meetings
  • Oversee supplier quality assurance
  • Review/modify quality requirements for supplier purchase orders, as required
  • Manage supplier nonconformance/deviations
  • Exhibit proficiency with Excel and database management

Required Skills

  • Highly adaptable, effective team player with the ability to develop, lead, and sustain change activities
  • Self-motivated with strong leadership, project management, and problem-solving skills
  • Capable and eager to provide leadership and Quality technical support within the programs’ value streams
  • Proficient with drawing interpretation and GD&T, and able to interpret CMM data outputs

Education/Experience

  • B.S. Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Technologies
  • 4+ years relevant experience in either Quality Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering preferred
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), airfoil casting experience, and NDT Level III experience are advantageous
  • SAP experience preferred

Additional Requirement

  • Up to 20% domestic and international travel may be required

  • SAP: 3 years (Preferred)
  • Quality Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering: 4 years (Required)

Ability to Relocate:

  • Glastonbury, CT 06033: Relocate before starting work (Required)

  • 25% (Preferred)
