Fibreworks Composites was founded in 2009 and is privately owned by Guenther Steiner and Joe Hofmann. In 2019 Joe and Guenther decided to launch an AS9100 / ISO certified sister company called Composite Factory. Composite Factory’s primary focus is to diversify our business into Aerospace, Aero structures, Aviation and Defense, and the Medical industries that require a higher level of traceability and certification. Our core mission is to exceed our customers' needs by embracing challenges that surpass the capabilities of our competitors.

Job Summary:
Ensure all parts manufactured within Fibreworks Composites or its sub-contractors meet the fit, form, and function criteria set by the customers and/or engineering standards. Composite Quality Control Inspector III examines finished carbon fiber product for defects or deviations from specifications.
- Fundamental knowledge of composite design, Fibreworks manufacturing process, and product
- Thorough understanding of FWC/CF processes
- Ensure part quality standards are met according to specifications on internal and/or external engineering drawings and/or blueprints
- Solid working knowledge of GD&T
- Collaborate with Engineering and Production to define inspection criteria
- Develop first article inspections and supply customers with all accompanying documents (AS9102 inspection reports, bubbled drawings, etc.), as assigned
- Inspect parts using PCMM and other standard metrology equipment for weights and measures (calipers, micrometers, depth gauge, gauge pins, Romer arm, etc.) keeping detailed records (weights, checklists, reports, etc.) in an organized and standard fashion
- Proficiency in operation and troubleshooting of CMM equipment
- Provide clear and timely communication to staff when discussing quality issues such as reporting findings on inspection reports, understanding design intent, non-conformance, etc.
- Educate production and engineering teams on quality control issues to improve overall production quality
- Champion the NCR process, continually driving improvements and encouraging participation. Aim to achieve timely disposition of nonconforming parts. Work to enable NCRs to be closed.
- Perform Quality Management System (QMS) support functions, as assigned, such as:
- Advanced knowledge of ERP system. Utilize ERP system to perform RMA duties as assigned
- Train and develop skills of new quality control inspectors
- Must adhere to health and safety procedures, and all workplace policies
- Ability to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 pounds
- Other responsibilities as assigned
What You Will Bring to the Team:
- Minimum High School Diploma
- AS9100 and ISO certified (internal auditor preferred)
- Must have a minimum of three (3) years of industry related Quality Control experience
- Must have thorough understanding of root cause analysis, corrective action and preventative action methods
- NDT level 1, 2 and 3 highly desired
- Composite Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of composite manufacturing processes a plus
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be well organized and have the ability to multitask
- Attention to detail and good documentation practices
- Self-starter, results-oriented individual with ability to organize and analyze data
- Proficient with MS Office products. Inspection software knowledge a plus.
- Knowledge of basic math and computer skills are important because measuring, calibrating, and calculating specifications are major parts of quality control testing
- Must be able to use specialized tools and machinery when testing products (calipers, micrometers, depth gauge, gauge pins, Romer arm, etc.)
- Must understand blueprints, GD&T, technical documents, and manuals, ensuring that products and parts meet quality standards
- Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident
