RP Homes is currently seeking a driven individual with a strong attention to detail who wants to have positive impact on the overall quality of the homes RP Communities builds turns over to our homeowners and customers. The quality control inspector will be responsible to complete and submit the required home inspections through the various stages of construction to ensure the home is built per the plans, per the community specifications and per the homeowner’s selections and upgrades.

Compensation: $50,000- $70,000/yr. plus bonuses, depending on experience

Responsibilities:
  • Estimate the potential cost to complete needed repairs, providing a range of options
  • Catalog each damaged fixture or system in need of repair so there are no surprises for buyers or sellers
  • Respond to clients’ inquiries quickly to keep them informed and provide superb customer service
  • Complete building inspections prior to sale to ensure the home meets current standards for electrical systems, roofing, HVAC systems, plumbing systems, security systems, structural components, and building codes updates
  • Draft a comprehensive report, with photographs, to help home buyers and sellers understand exactly what the inspection revealed

Reports to: Quality Assurance Manager

Works with: Construction, QC/Warranty, Purchasing/Estimating, Drafting, Vendors and Subcontractors

Job Details:

  • Push superintendent to complete the items noted on the final QC inspection report prior to the HOW (Homeowner Orientation Walk)
  • Work with warranty to eliminate consistent issues that warranty receives from buyers
  • Comprehensive knowledge of RP Communities floor plans, specifications, standard selection, upgrade selections and structural upgrades
  • Evaluate and Audit 3rd party home inspection reports in order to clearly communicate what we will and won't do

This role requires the following inspection checklists be completed and submitted to the Quality Assurance Manager, community project manager and superintendent:

  • Foundation Inspection
  • Pre-Drywall Inspection
  • Final QC Inspection
  • Safety Inspections

Qualifications:
  • Valid driver’s license and able to travel by car
  • Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Well-acquainted with basic computer programs and email applications
  • One year experience in home inspection or construction position
  • Must carry proof of state license, where applicable, and ASHI certification

  • 3 years of construction field experience
  • Understanding of how the many parts and pieces of a home or townhome go together and the various construction methods used to assemble them
  • Team oriented mindset
  • People skills to handle conflict articulately and professionally with customers, inspectors and trades
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Motor Vehicle license
  • Strong work ethic
  • Must be able to competently read blueprints
  • Punctual
  • Must possess a comprehensive understanding of jobsite general health and safety per OSHA standards
  • 10hr OSHA Certified (CPR and Equipment Operator Certified Preferred)
  • Technology: SmartSuite, G-Suite
