As the Quality Control Coordinator of a nature-based solutions company committed to developing high-quality voluntary carbon offset projects, this person will ensure the quality and accuracy of the data passing through the data processing department. Coordinate with personnel to maintain timelines, move projects down the processing pipeline, escalating out of compliance work or quality control concerns to the responsible individuals. Will be reviewing large forestry related data sets, maps, and imagery for errors or inconsistencies. The position reports to the Data Processing Manager and works closely with Data Technicians, the Cruise Coordinator, and our Carbon Analysts to ensure the highest standards are met for all data passing through the department.

The ideal candidate will have experience coordinating or managing a remote workforce, strong time management skills, organizational and planning skills. Additionally, the candidate should be a strategic thinker with the ability to see the bigger picture.
This position will report to the Data Processing Manager. The Quality Assurance Coordinator is responsible for quality control and assurance on both incoming and outgoing data sets.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quality control and assurance on both incoming and outgoing data sets.
  • Be proactive about developing, encouraging, and implementing continuous process improvements, both with individual team members and with processing operations.
  • Manage digitization board for tracking project progression, update software and applications linked to the process.
  • Coordinate team personnel through digitization process to meet data quality and timeline efficiency for each project passing through the processing department.
  • Active data processing and digitization of projects to provide support to personnel when timeline needs must be met.
  • Participate in company-wide and department meetings, development activities, and other duties as assigned.
  • Coordination, collaboration and effective communication between team members and departments.
  • Ensure department documentation is up to date.
  • Assist in training new policies and procedures when needed.
  • Provide input and testing for software development.

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in forestry, natural resource management or environmental studies.
  • Previous experience coordinating or managing a remote workforce.
  • Familiarity with Jira or other project management software.
  • Have a strong background in computer and software related work.
  • Strong communication skills, including both oral and written.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills, as well as a high-level attention to detail.
  • Strong time-management and self-management skills and can take direction and work independently to reach identified goals on a set timeline.
  • Are able to maintain a high level of professionalism and discretion in dealing with highly sensitive project deliverables.
  • Experience with MS Office; and familiarity with spreadsheets.
  • Experience with ArcGIS Pro.
  • Have a commitment to solving the environmental challenges of our time.
  • Willingness to travel domestically (limited).
  • Able to work effectively with remote team members throughout the U.S.
The base salary range for this position is expected to be subject to the chosen candidate’s experience, skills, certifications and qualifications, determination of which is made in the sole discretion of Chestnut Carbon.

All employees are eligible to participate in health, insurance, and 401K plan benefits on their first day of employment. Chestnut Carbon pays 100% of the cost of the employees’ health/dental/vision insurance. During each fiscal year of employment, employees will be eligible to earn a discretionary annual incentive bonus, based on company and individual performance targets.
