Tyler’s Nebraska Enterprise, is looking to hire for a Quality Assurance Analyst for their Lincoln based office. We are a talented team of developers, product owners, and support desk who manage the award-winning Nebraska.gov state website and build web applications for NE state and local government. Nearly every Nebraskan uses our online solutions and services to interact with the state, and we take tremendous pride in simplifying Nebraska government interactions.

The Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for assembling and executing test plans for web-based applications and any associated software services. Testing will focus on custom developed application changes, web-based compliance, development of mobile application changes, infrastructure changes, maintenance windows, and any other quality assurance activities required. Application changes could be enhancements, defects, production validation, or re-factoring tasks within a release. At times, the Quality Assurance Analyst will be tasked with requirements gathering and other tasks to support the system development lifecycle.

The Quality Assurance Analyst should possess the ability to diagnose and solve problems, working with a portfolio of applications. Our ideal candidate will have a background in software quality assurance or project management and be familiar with web-based/mobile or multi-platform testing. The selected candidate needs to be able to engage, communicate and cooperate with Product Owners, Developers, Support Desk, and Customers.


Responsibilities

  • Gather testing requirements by participating in interviews, document analysis, business process observation, use cases, industry research as well as task and workflow analysis
  • Critically evaluate information, reconcile conflicts, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs
  • Competently conduct functional tests on changes introduced along with documenting and sharing the results for developmental revisions, project record keeping, and software audits
  • Support Business Users during User Acceptance testing to assure their full understanding of the changes and effective methods to verify acceptable functionality
  • Design and execute test plans on online applications
  • Record and document results and compare to expected results
  • Detect application failures so that defects may be discovered and corrected
  • Generate historical analysis of test results
  • Document anomalies and issues
  • Maintain database of software defects
  • Verify specific action or function of code
  • Provide application instructions for users
  • Develop and document application test plans based on software requirements and technical specifications
  • Create meaningful error handling procedures for application code
  • Perform application security audits
  • Participate in application planning meetings
  • Ensure data integrity standards
  • Conduct black box testing


Qualifications

  • Bachelors in Computer Science or minimum of 1-3 years in a quality analyst position, project management or experience focused around QA
  • Good communication skills – you need to be able to engage and articulate within your role, with other roles, as well as, hierarchical.
  • Working knowledge of Internet technology
  • Self-motivated and driven possessing strong analytical, organizational, and multitasking abilities
  • Prefer Agile or Kanban experience
