Employment Information
Overview:
This position will be responsible for the inspection of all parts and determining if the parts meet specifications. The position will also be responsible for all documentation associated with the inspection process.
Responsibilities:
  • Inspect all parts and supplies using customary inspection devices such as bore gauges, height gauges, hardness testers, profilometers, and CMM. Responsible for calibrating all equipment used.
  • Assess conformance of products and assemblies to drawings and specifications. Notate any discrepancies on blueprints and report issues to management.
  • Interpret blue-prints and assembly prints. May be asked to create sketches with dimensions when new parts are received from vendors for engineering to create blueprints.
  • Responsible for documenting if part has passed or failed, the location of pallet, and reporting of all related data.
  • Communication with engineering and purchasing departments on any quality or supplier issues.
  • May occasionally be asked to sharpen drill bits, bead blast parts, and perform saw cutting duties when needed.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and neat work area.
  • Ability to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications:
Skills and Abilities
  • Proficient math skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and blueprints as well as maintain specified dimensional accuracy of machined parts.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications, including Word and Excel.
Demonstrated Competencies
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Must maintain a positive attitude with the ability to stay on schedule with assigned jobs.
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees.
  • Must have regular and punctual attendance.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 60lbs.
  • This position requires walking, standing, twisting, reaching, bending, climbing, and lifting.
  • Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, including weekends.
Experience: Prior experience working with inspection gauges, tolls, and documentation to support quality inspection effort is preferred. Background in a machine shop or manufacturing environment is preferred.
Education: High School diploma or equivalent, or verifiable ability to perform essential job functions. Vocational or Technical training in machining or related discipline is preferred.
