We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Purchasing Manager to join our plastics manufacturing plant. As a Purchasing Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the procurement process, including sourcing, negotiating contracts, and managing supplier relationships. Your primary goal will be to ensure the uninterrupted supply of raw materials, equipment, and services required for efficient operations and production within the company. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, excellent negotiation abilities, and a deep understanding of the plastics manufacturing industry.
Responsibilities:
Procurement Strategy Development: Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with the company's goals and objectives, considering factors such as quality, cost, lead times, and availability of materials and services.
Supplier Sourcing and Evaluation: Identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on quality, price, delivery capabilities, and overall performance. Establish and maintain a comprehensive supplier database and monitor supplier performance to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality materials and services.
Contract Negotiation: Negotiate favorable terms, conditions, and pricing agreements with suppliers, taking into account volume discounts, payment terms, and other relevant factors. Review and analyze contractual terms to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
Inventory Management: Collaborate with production and planning teams to develop accurate and efficient inventory management strategies. Optimize inventory levels to minimize stock-outs while maximizing working capital efficiency.
Cost Optimization: Continuously evaluate purchasing processes and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality and reliability. Identify opportunities for value engineering, alternative sourcing, or supplier consolidation to achieve cost reductions.
Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers through effective communication, regular performance evaluations, and supplier development initiatives. Resolve any supplier-related issues or disputes promptly and professionally.
Market Research and Analysis: Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and new product developments. Monitor changes in pricing, supply, and demand, and recommend appropriate actions to mitigate risks or capitalize on.
