How you will make a difference in this role:

As the Production Manager, you will be responsible for managing operations in a print production environment by directing staff, production deadlines, budgets, and contracts. You will monitor the quality of completed products, consult with clients and support staff, compile reporting metrics, research market trends, and develop job performance plans. You will provide performance feedback and developmental guidance for assigned subordinates to ensure their growth. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

This position reports to the Production Assistant Director. The position works in the Tennessee Tower in Downtown Nashville and has an on-site work schedule with a monthly starting salary of $3,958 – $4,958 (determined by experience). Examples of Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the operations for assigned production area; monitor the quality of completed products; conduct production meetings and follow-up on all critical jobs; evaluate workflow processes and implement changes to improve quality and turnaround time; use workflow software to schedule and track jobs throughout the production process; and coordinate workload with internal and external business partners.
  • Consult with clients about production services; inform clients about services provided; survey clients regarding needs, complaints, and suggestions; communicate and resolve any delays or complications with client's orders; and investigate complaints from clients.
  • Compile monthly production reports and present information to keep upper management abreast of daily production operations to identify any issues or problems that need to be addressed.
  • Assist upper management and procurement personnel in the preparation of specifications and contracts for equipment and services.
  • Research market trends and the availability of new equipment and software to stay up to date with the latest technology.
  • Develop job performance plans, document performance, and provide performance feedback and developmental guidance for assigned subordinates.

Requirements:

  • Education equivalent to graduation from a standard high school and experience equivalent to four years of printing production services and production work involving setting up, operating, or monitoring machines.
  • Three or more years of production supervisory or managerial work.
  • Experience in establishing daily production schedules to ensure on-time and quality products that meet expectations of both internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred by not required:

  • Safety / SDS experience
  • Inventory management
