JOB FUNCTIONS / DUTIES:
To exhibit a fair and consistent management approach ensuring a satisfied and productive employee workplace.
To identify growth and developmental opportunities and on-going training needs of supervisory personnel, which provide for an overall positive working environment.
To persuade and support the Company policies and business objectives in the daily management of the operations of the Company.
Establishing departmental measurable and goals that are monitored, tracked, and audited on a regular basis and communicated to employees through daily Team Meetings.
Maintain and post Open Issues Lists within the department that identify opportunities to improve safety related issues and develop action plans to actively address identified issues in a timely manner.
Recognize specific achievements within the department regarding improvements in safety, environmental, ergonomics and employee wellness.
Enforce all safety rules and regulations consistently and hold Team Leaders accountable for enforcing said rules.
Actively participate in Accident Investigations and correct unsafe conditions in a prudent and timely manner.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participate in daily team meetings and offer ideas/suggestions that contribute to meeting the performance objectives.
Lead and participate in team activities to maintain and continuously improve performance goals.
Coordinate the utilization of facilities, equipment, materials, and employees to meet departmental performance objectives.
Manage and train team leaders and team members in developing team-work skills and team-oriented activities in a positive working environment.
Track time sheets, attendance records and ensure that all performance reviews are completed in a timely manner.
Coordinate staffing needs and ensure that all personnel issues are dealt with in a timely manner.
Develop and implement ergonomic production layouts to optimize process flows and eliminate non-value-added activities through the principles of synchronous manufacturing.
Establish accurate data collection systems for management non-conformance product tracking, labor tracking and resource utilization reports.
Ensure strict compliance with all IATF-16949 procedures and monitor development and compliance of all work guidance on the floor.
Participate in the advanced product quality planning activities for the development of control plans and work guidance.
Identify accurate monitoring and data collection systems for critical processes, equipment and/or product parameters. Track capability for continuous improvement activities.
Assess the abilities of personnel and resources and allocate them to the areas of their greatest expertise and utilization.
Maintain daily schedules and maintain weekly production requirements.
Ensure information systems and production data procedures are being followed.
Ensure that training needs are being met by all personnel and that training procedures are being followed.
Liaison with other departments in meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.
Coordinate all production equipment to meet production schedules.
Guide and participate in departmental continuous improvement activities.
Ensure that all accidents are properly reported, and accident investigations are completed within 24 hours.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree in a technical or business field of study. Twelve years work-related experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree. Work experience combined with current schooling towards degree will be considered.
Implementation knowledge of OSHA industry health and safety regulations.
Operational knowledge of management information systems, use of personal computers and application software.
Extensive manufacturing management experience in a high volume, dynamic environment.
Demonstrated organizational, communication, problem solving and people skills.
