LG Chem America, Inc. (“LGCAI”) is actively searching for an experienced Procurement - Assistant Manager to join our growing Atlanta, Georgia office and carry out Procurement activities individually and as part of a broader team both here in the United States and abroad, including in Korea.


The Procurement Assistant Manager will be responsible for performing all procurement related planning tasks assigned to them by their supervisor from time to time. We’ve provided the essential functions – or the primary duties and major job responsibilities – that the Procurement Assistant Manager must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation. This position is based in our Corporate Office in Atlanta, GA.


Essential Functions:

  • Procurement Process Management
  • This includes management of the regulation related to chemical substances.
  • Decide the purchasing quantity depending on supply and demand plan.
  • Procure raw materials, service for maintenance, equipment in accordance with the procurement procedure of LG Chem.
  • Perform RFQ(Request for Quotation), issue TBE (Technical Bid Evaluation), CBE (Commercial Bid Evaluation), PO (Purchase Order) with price negotiation, and make final contracts with vendors.
  • Identify alternatives for discontinued materials and pluralization of suppliers.


System Proficient

  • Monitor overall procurement progress, payment transaction and manage SAP/ARIBA data related to procurement.
  • Use SAP/ARIBA system for Procurement process, Functional Location Management, storeroom functions, and maintenance planning functions.

Departmental Coordination

  • Manage the raw material store room to high standards of data integrity and cleanliness as well as leading continuous improvement for the stores department.
  • Oversee the storeroom, produce replenishment reports, conduct obsolete parts removal, perform turnover rate analysis, process cycle counting, min/max adjustments, parts kitting.
  • Close collaboration is required with Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Sales, Logistics, Manufacturing, Customer Care as well as other corporate functions such as Credit, Procurement, Regulatory and Legal.
  • Participate with other managers in establishing corporate strategic plans and goals.


Other Duties as Assigned

  • Provide regulatory support and service to LG Chem headquarters by reporting the spending data, the market price, progressive management related to procurement work.


Qualifications, Skills, and Experiences : What We're Looking For


Education:
Bachelor Degree preferred in Business Administration, or Engineering field


Skills and Expertise

  • 5+years of professional work experience related with Procurement for a production facility
  • Ability to follow directions and procedures accurately.
  • Working knowledge and familiarity with Incoterms (International Commercial Terms).
  • Capable of working independently.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate effectively.
  • Comfortable with workplace technology like registers, control system, scale software, inventory management software.
  • Understanding of relevant health and safety regulations.
  • Must possess good reading, writing and math skills.
  • Experience assessing and driving transformational improvements across purchasing and sourcing organizations.
  • Experience in business strategy planning.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for analytics.
  • Proven record of collaboration in a work setting and/or through extracurricular activities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Skills to communicate complex ideas effectively.
