The Killdeer Police Department is seeking exceptional applicants to fill immediate full-time and part-time openings for the position of Patrol Officer, and is seeking professional, motivated candidates who are interested in working in a progressive 6-man department.

The City of Killdeer offers the following work conditions and incentives:
- Salary (gross): FT: $63,341.72 - $89,856.05 annually for POST certified / lateral applicants (with wage to be discussed for non-certified applicants); PT wage dependent on experience;
- 100% paid full single / family ND Blue Cross / Blue Shield Health Insurance, including dental / vision plans;
- Paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays;
- $100 monthly employee savings plan;
- 100% paid ND Law Enforcement PERS Retirement plan, currently at 18.04% of salary
- All necessary duty equipment and a take-home patrol vehicle are provided;
- $1,000 hiring bonus for qualified applicants, up to $5,000 for highly qualified and recommended applicants;
- City housing may be available;
- Training in specialized areas of interest is possible, including but not limited to FTO, investigations, training, interdiction, response team operations, and more;
- Annual wage increases are available with satisfactory performance;
- Supervisory ranked positions, dependent upon availability, needs of the department, and performance;
- Retention bonuses may be available for officers on a continuing basis;
- Current 12 hour 5 on / 5 off, 2 on / 2 off schedule, rotating shifts;
- FT employees may reside within 40 miles of Killdeer (take-home car not eligible outside of city limits);
- Great community support, school system, and area outdoor activities;
- Free membership to the Killdeer Aquatics & Wellness Center for all City staff;
Applicant must be POST licensable within North Dakota. Current ND POST certified, lateral transfer, or basic academy graduates will be given preference. Part-time applicants must be currently ND POST certified or licensable, with a positive work history.
