Position Summary:
Seeking employee with managerial experience with the proven ability to direct all operational teams and projects to meet or exceed set goals. Communicate and manage safety metrics, financials, labor results and prepare executive reports. Commercial laundry experience preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prioritize and plan daily workflow based upon business requirements and set goals.
- Oversees all daily operations of plant, planning, organizing, directing, and controlling workflow, standards, labor, and linen requirement.
- Hire and train new Production employees, ensuring the orientation and proper training of all new workers by demonstrating and explaining operating techniques to improve production and maintain workflow.
- Responsible for motivating, inspiring and mentoring the operations team including several level functions: production, transportation, and administration.
- Inspect for quality and cleanliness, ensures those items that are not meeting quality standards are sent for stain treatment, discarding, or other.
- Ensure adequate performance management of all employees including affirmations, coaching, counseling, discipline, and terminations as required in a timely manner, resolve any Production personnel problems with the support of Human Resources.
- Ensure communication and timing is coordinated between production, and dispatchers; communicate delays to Transportation and Service teams immediately.
- Communicate any equipment problems to technicians in a timely manner and follow through to ensure those problems have been addressed and resolved.
- Report repairs needed in plant and with machinery, following up to ensure all repairs completed.
- Sets and runs Staff Meetings.
- Communicates policies and procedures.
- Responsible for customer satisfaction including inventories.
- Strategize and provide superior customer service using outstanding sales acumen.
- Ensures PPOH goals are met or exceeded and have a plan if they are not.
- Involved in financial controls.
- Acquire data to run production reports, evaluations, and daily attendance reports, and approve payroll.
- Conduct tests, inspections, and analyze problems encountered using logic and reasoning at each stage of the operation and implement corrective measures to prevent reoccurrences in the future.
- May give input to develop budgets.
- On occasion, assists workers and performs any of the operations to maintain the production goals.
- Develop schedules and workflow to control overtime, manage labor costs and meet productivity KPIs and customer expectations with sales forecasts, plant and employee capacity and new business opportunities.
- Preventing accidents is to be the highest priority.
- Ensures strict adherence to all safety standards related to DOT, HAZMAT, and OSHA regulations regarding training, use of PPE, inventory, and supply management.
- Suggest and develop training methods to improve staff efficiency and productivity.
- Participate in broad corporate initiatives, may include reports and presentations.
- Gain full proficiency in a specific area of discipline and broad range of activities related to the job.
- Oversee, monitor, and coordinate production team activities, giving importance to individual member's and overall team's achievement of established goals.
- Inform Manager of any problematic situations related to laundry operations including equipment.
- Maintain sufficient inventory of supplies, goods and products required to complete the scheduled work assignments effectively and efficiently.
- Maintain daily activity and productivity reports using designated systems including productivity standards and hourly reports.
- Contribute to incident reports for any issues that affect safety, productivity or quality and submits to Manager on duty.
- Ensure all equipment is functioning properly and that all safety procedures are followed.
- Responsible for maintaining production area clean including pre- and post-shift.
- Perform other duties as required
Qualifications and Skills:
- 5 years or more of management experience, Laundry experience a plus.
- Multilingual highly desirable .
- Strong leadership skills, proactive, decisive, problem solver able to think outside the box to create strategies in a changing environment with no supervision.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong work ethic, highly independent and goal oriented.
- Possesses strong safety awareness.
- Flexible schedule including days/nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Bilingual, a plus.
- Basic Computer Skills
- Able to understand and complete basic math.
- Must read and write in English.
Physical / Mental Requirements:
- May be at an industrial setting with hot/cold environment and distracting noise levels.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
