Plant Manager
Job Summary: The Plant Manager for an Aluminum Extrusion Manufacturing Plant plays a critical role in overseeing all aspects of plant operations, ensuring efficient production, quality control, safety compliance, and strategic growth. This role requires strong leadership, management, and technical skills to effectively manage a complex manufacturing facility and drive its success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and execute the plant's strategic goals and objectives in alignment with the company's overall mission and vision.
- Implement policies and procedures to optimize production efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance profitability.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, expansion, and market growth.
- Operational Management:
- Oversee daily manufacturing operations, including aluminum extrusion, machining, fabrication, and finishing processes.
- Ensure the production schedule is met, and products meet quality standards and specifications.
- Manage resources, including manpower, materials, and equipment, to optimize production output.
- Quality Control and Assurance:
- Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure products meet industry and customer standards.
- Develop and enforce strict quality assurance protocols and procedures.
- Collaborate with quality teams to address and resolve product quality issues.
- Safety and Regulatory Compliance:
- Promote and enforce a culture of safety within the plant, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and best practices.
- Conduct regular safety audits and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Stay up-to-date with industry regulations and ensure plant compliance.
- Team Management:
- Recruit, train, and develop a skilled workforce, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and performance feedback to department managers and staff.
- Promote teamwork and effective communication among employees.
- Cost Management:
- Develop and manage the plant's budget, controlling costs while maximizing efficiency and productivity.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to improve operational profitability.
- Supply Chain and Inventory Management:
- Oversee the procurement of raw materials and manage inventory levels to ensure uninterrupted production.
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate favorable terms.
- Customer Relations:
- Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, addressing their needs and concerns.
- Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to understand market trends and customer demands.
- Environmental Sustainability:
- Promote environmentally responsible practices and initiatives within the plant.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and support sustainability goals.
- Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare regular reports on plant performance, including key performance indicators (KPIs), financial results, and production metrics.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of all plant activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Management, Business, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Extensive experience in aluminum extrusion manufacturing, with at least 8-10 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of aluminum extrusion processes, equipment, and industry best practices.
- Proven track record of successfully managing manufacturing plants and driving operational excellence.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in budget management, financial analysis, and strategic planning.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and environmental compliance in the manufacturing industry.
- Ability to make data-driven decisions and adapt to changing market conditions.
