Job Summary

We’re seeking certified Personal Trainers with exceptional customer service skills and a wide range of clientele experience. As a PRCS employee you will be performing meaningful work, connecting our communities through programming, and exceptional learning experiences. A successful candidate will bring their expertise and knowledge to our team while engaging and motivating others through their fitness journeys.

We’re hiring for the following locations:


  • Claude Moore Recreation and Community Center, Sterling
  • Dulles South Recreation and Community Center, South Riding

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Serves a diverse population including but not limited to youth, adults, individuals with disabilities and seniors.
  • Develops individualized or small group training programs consistent with our members’ personal fitness and exercise goals.
  • Effectively communicates and conducts fitness consultations with new clients including pre-participation screenings, goal setting assessments, and movement screenings.
  • Provides a safe experience and monitor clients during training sessions on proper use of fitness equipment, movement, form, and techniques.
  • Completes all administrative requirements in a timely manner and associated with each client’s fitness plan.
  • Stays up to date with industry standards, fitness trends and continuing education.
  • Maintains a clean and safe environment for clients when working with fitness equipment.
  • Actively promote and seek new clients and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Participate in monthly meetings, events, and in-services.
  • May perform additional duties related to their position.

Schedules are flexible and can include morning, evening, and weekend hours. Hours vary based on client, center, and some holiday needs.

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent and a nationally recognized personal trainer certification.
Must have CPR/AED.
Must be physically able to lift 50 pounds occasionally and 30 pounds frequently.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


  • Six (6) months of personal training experience.
  • Certification recognized by the NCCA-National Commission for Certifying Agencies (ACSM, NASM, NSCA, ACE).
  • Bilingual.
  • First Aid certification.

Job Contingencies and Special Requirements

  • Pass a criminal background check.
  • Must maintain a personal trainer certification.
  • Must maintain a CPR/AED certification.
