SUMMARY

Performs payroll processing and human resources activities for all companies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

· Enters, corrects, verifies, and transmits payroll information in the payroll system.

· Enters and maintains employee information such as personal data, compensation, benefits and termination dates and reasons.

· Administers benefit programs.

· Manages the operational activities related to the generation and distribution of payroll.

· Maintains records with accrual information related to vacation, sickness, and all payroll related files.

· Enters employee data information in the system and maintains employee files.

· Answers calls/correspondence related to payroll and human resources.

· Ensures that all court orders for garnishments are communicated to employees and information is relayed to the payroll system.

· Prepares and submits federal, FICA, and state income tax deposits, employer contributions, and special allowances. Prepares journal entries and reconcile payroll and tax ledger account and W-2s.

· Identifies legal requirement and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures and reporting compliance.

· Keeps records of benefits plans participation such as insurance, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews and termination and employee statistics for government reporting.

· Leads Open Enrollment Benefit meetings.

· Assist in process to investigate work-related accidents and maintains required records.

· Ensures all annual notices and reports are filed and distributed accurately and in compliance.

· Updates employee files to document personnel actions and to provide information for payroll and other uses.

· Plans and conducts new employee orientation.

· Assists in determining wages.

· Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation and conducts exit interviews to find reasons behind separations.

· Communicates essential information to the employees within the department and/or within the Company.

· Reviews and assists with the updates to the Employee Handbook to reflect current workplace policies and procedures.

· Other duties may be assigned.

· This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

· Bachelor’s or associate Degree; and two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

· Ability to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

· Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

· Ability to apply common sense understanding to conduct detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.
