Payroll & HR Administrator

Rowman & Littlefield is seeking a full-time payroll and HR specialist who will work across many aspects of Human Resources. To qualify, you must be organized, detail-oriented, communicative, able to maintain a high level of confidentiality and have the desire to grow.
Responsibilities
· Process and issue employee paychecks and statements of earnings and deductions. Review timecards, wages, and other information to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies.
· Provide information to employees and managers on payroll matters, tax issues and benefit plans.
· Conduct verifications of employment.
· Prepare and file payroll tax returns.
· Maintain accurate account of staff attendance using the time and attendance online portal.
· Assist in the employment process by organizing, processing, documenting, and maintaining employment records related to events such as hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, or promotions using ADP Workforce Now.
· Analyze employment-related data and prepare required reports.
· Maintain departmental record organization and accuracy within the Human Resource Information System (HRIS), in our online database, and within our physical HR filing system, performing clerical functions including copying, scanning, and faxing documents.
· Assist in monthly research, evaluation, and documentation of compliance updates on a federal, state, and local level to ensure the integrity of our practices and policies.
· Assistance with other Human Resources activities as needed.
In addition to the above, candidates will have:
· Associate or Bachelor’s degree and/or Human Resources certification from SHRM or HRCI.
· 3+ years prior experience as a payroll administrator.
· Knowledge of using online/paperless systems for data organization.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365; Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; proficiency in Adobe Software and experience with ADP Workforce Now is strongly preferred.

· Responsible & Accountable: Maintain deadlines by communicating with the supervisor when delays occur. Be flexible with work hours when necessary to complete assigned work, and exhibit a good work ethic with good attendance, punctuality, and adherence to deadlines.
