A & P Aircraft Mechanic Part-Time Opportunity

Avel Flight School, an FAA Part 141 and Part 65 approved institution situated at DuPage Airport in West Chicago, IL, is currently seeking experienced and dedicated Aircraft Mechanics for part-time positions.

This unique opportunity allows individuals with an A&P License to leverage their available free time from their main job, contributing to our maintenance team on an as-needed basis.

Position: A & P Aircraft Mechanic (Part-Time)

Location: DuPage Airport, West Chicago, IL

Pay: $17 to $25 per hour (based on experience)

Job Description:

The successful candidate will possess the appropriate personality to thrive in a fast-paced environment while upholding a constant focus on safety and quality.

Avel Flight School operates single-engine Cessna 172s and Seneca 200T multi-engine aircraft.

Primary Operational Objectives:

Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance

Conduct maintenance on Piper and Cessna general aviation aircraft

Execute 100hr, annual, and other inspections as required

Efficiently troubleshoot aircraft issues, perform maintenance, and repairs in accordance with applicable regulations, manufacturer’s instructions, and company policies

Ensure consistent, accurate aircraft maintenance records by properly documenting and completing required forms, computer entries, and logbook entries

Adhere to all policies and procedures

Maintain a clean and orderly work environment

Perform job duties in a safe manner

Qualified candidates should possess the following skills and experience:

Current FAA A&P License

Strong communication skills with customers and co-workers

Ability to work independently and as a team player

Well-developed troubleshooting skills
