Job Summary:


Enforces parking regulations, uses hand held electronic ticket writing devices or hand writes citations. Performs the stationary impound of vehicles and assists in towing vehicles. Uses a two way radio. Monitors all campus parking lots and associated signage and reports needed repairs. Provides parking information to the general public, university employees and students.

Hours vary from 6:00am to 10:00pm (8 hour shifts)

As a field based position Parking Services Enforcement Officers routinely work outside in all weather conditions. This position may be assigned to any shift or combination of shifts as is deemed necessary in all kinds of inclement weather. Must be able to physically provide emergency services and conduct other physically demanding assignments. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, run, climb stairs and must routinely lift and/or move at least 50 pounds.

Education & Experience



Position Qualifications:


Required:

High School/GED

Two years working experience operating a personal computer with Microsoft Office software/Windows XP.

Must have valid driver's license

Proficient Public Relation skills, communicating with customers in person, via email, and via telephone, explaining parking regulations and/or handling complaints.
Must work effectively in a team-oriented environment which requires individual thought and initiative. Must maintain professional standards and conduct during stressful and oftentimes emotional situations. Ability to work in a fast paced environment. Proficient at delivering and following detailed instructions.

Ability to stand, walk, run, and climb stairs for extended periods of time and must be able to routinely lift and/or move at least 50 pounds.

Preferred:

Associate

Law, Criminal Justice, or related field

2 years previous experience in parking enforcement on a university campus.
Experience operating parking and transit resource computer software and radio.

OSU Training as required by Management including OSU Ambassador Program and/or OSU Leadership Program.

Superior Public Relation written and oral skills to communicate with customers.
