Transportation Logistics Manager – Portland, OR
As a Transportation Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management and coordination of daily operations at our Portland, OR operation. Your role involves overseeing logistics, leading a team, and ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of goods and services. The position requires a combination of leadership, operational expertise, common sense, and a commitment to safety and DOT compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operations Leadership: Lead and manage all aspects of operations, including transportation scheduling, fleet services, and administrative functions.
2. Team Management: Supervise and motivate a diverse team of drivers, yard, and administrative personnel, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
3. Safety and Compliance: Prioritize and enforce safety protocols, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and legal standards to create a secure work environment.
4. Logistics Optimization: Coordinate transportation schedules, optimize routes, and manage inventory to enhance operational efficiency while minimizing costs.
5. Customer Relations: Address customer inquiries, concerns, and service issues promptly, maintaining a strong focus on delivering high-quality service and exceeding customer expectations.
6. Financial Management: Develop and manage budgets for operations, controlling expenses, and identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising service quality.
7. Regulatory Knowledge: Stay informed about DOT regulations, permits, and licensing requirements, ensuring the operation’s compliance with legal standards.

Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
2. Proven experience in transportation management, logistics, or a related field.
3. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
4. In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and DOT compliance standards.
5. Proficiency in relevant logistics and operations management software.
