General Statement of Job:
The Open Labs Logistics Manager works directly with the department director to achieve organizational goals and objectives. Manages supervisory staff and ensures the implementation of reliable technologies and customer support within the Learning Commons and Opens Labs. Monitors the operation of services and stays abreast of immerging technologies.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Oversees the proper execution of departmental procedures and guidelines within the computer and makerspace labs.
  • Assists with the development and implementation of the departments institutional effectiveness plans.
  • Works on special projects and other tasks as delegated by the department director.
  • Maintains proper time and attendance records for employees which involves the creation of employee schedules, approval of hours, and leave requests.
  • Ensures the delivery of proper customer service practices by training and assessing employee performance.
  • Assists with patron concerns related to the adherence of departmental rules and guidelines.
  • Administers and maintains equipment, furniture, and software inventories.
  • Disposes of surplus equipment and software in accordance with established procedures.
  • Review student satisfaction surveys and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements.
  • Monitors records of activities undertaken in support of the computer labs; analyzes statistical reports for evidence-based decision-making.
  • Promotes and markets the department services within the college community by conducting presentations and tours when needed.
  • Oversees proper implementation of marketing strategies and presentations.
  • Communicates with other departments to ensure consistency and collaboration.
  • Hires, trains, and monitors employee performance.
  • Serves as Campus Security Authority.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.



Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelors Degree required. Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or Computer related field preferred.
  • At least three (3) years of experience supporting computer laboratory activities and (3) years of supervisory experience that encompasses the training and directing of staff in a customer service environment required.
  • Experience in an educational setting preferred.
