Keystone Precision & Engineering, Inc., located in Pepperell, MA has an immediate opening for an experienced Mechanical Inspector. This person will be responsible for qualifying parts to customer requirements through mechanical and visual inspections with little supervision.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct basic to complex dimensional measurements using hand tools such as Micrometers, Vernier’s, Gage pins, Digital Height Gages, and thread gages without supervision.
  • Fluent GD&T Knowledge.
  • Ability to read and decipher complex blueprints.
  • Ability to conduct basic to advanced visual cosmetic inspections.
  • Enter process information into computer-based data systems.
  • Interface with Shift Supervisor/Quality Manager regarding order quantities and part quality.
  • Transport parts to designated areas.
  • Communicate within the Quality Department as needed.
  • Adhere to all quality and safety standards within the department.
  • Assist in the delegation required to maintain a clean and organized work area with an emphasis on safety, quality, efficiency, and utilization, and ensure all tools are properly stored and accounted for when not in use.
  • Provide guidance and assist in the adherence of all company policies and operational procedures.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Education, Experience and Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • 3 to 5 years experience in quality related fields.
  • Certificate courses in blueprint reading, GD&T, and computer-based software are a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and thoroughness is required.
  • Following prescribed sampling plans to complete product inspection.
  • Basic computer and calculator skills necessary.
  • Demonstrate the ability to obtain technical familiarity of other departments and understand how they affect performance.
  • Strong detail-oriented writing and oral communication skills.
  • Able to read, write in English and do basic arithmetic.
  • Must be punctual and have good attendance.
  • Experience in using next-tier inspection equipment, such as vision systems and coordinate measuring machines.
