Job Summary

Dewey Electronics’ mission is to integrate best-in-class technology and produce an optimized system with the highest probability of operational success in the field. The Mechanical Engineer (ME) role at Dewey will be assigned to work on all product stages from research and development to design and manufacture, through to installation and final commissioning. The expectation is to design and fabricate mechanical components of innovation and excellence. This role will collaborate with the R&D team with a focus on power integration. The position will work with a team of engineers who continue developing new prototypes and equipment to solve the constrained parameters prevalent in military applications.

Education

Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineer required

BS Mechanical engineer preferred.

3-5 years of prior industry experience a plus

Responsibilities

· Perform a full lifecycle product development (design, develop, test prototypes, manufacture and implement)Design systems and components that meet needs and requirements.

  • Produce outline designs.
  • Design Engineer, creating models and drawings in CREO, BOM entry, router entry, ECN forms and documentation, and data clean up.
  • Manufacturing to provide floor support.
  • Production, build generators, build and test prototypes.
  • Project Management will manage prototype builds.
  • Conduct experiments methodically, analyze data and interpret results.
  • Test and evaluate theoretical designs
  • Identify, formulate and produce effective solutions to emerging problems
  • Evaluate the final product’s overall performance, reliability and safety
  • Alter and modify design to meet requirements and eliminate malfunctions
  • Solicit observations from operators
  • Prepare product reports and documentation
  • Engage in lifelong learning and develop new theories or methods

Requirements and skills

  • Proven working experience in mechanical engineering.
  • Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) a plus
  • Familiarity with 2D or 3D engineering design and manufacturing tools
  • Mathematical computing and analysis tools knowledge (Excel etc.)
  • Solid understanding of core concepts including mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, materials science, etc.
  • Creativity and analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate technical knowledge in a clear and understandable manner
  • Technical writing skills

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

Individuals must be able to meet established physical requirements of the job (i.e., reaching, bending, stooping, twisting, standing, walking, lifting weights 0-20 lbs.)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
