Job Description
We have an opening in our organization for a Hiring Associate. This role will be responsible for overseeing all recruiting, hiring, and staffing needs for a patch of restaurants within RVP. Key customers include Operations Supervisors, Restaurant Managers, Trainer Associates as well as potential applicants.
The Hiring Associate is self-motivated, actively engaged with people, and demonstrates care, respect, and passion for our guests. The candidate will be required to recruit, interview, and hire for all vacant positions within the patch of restaurants. The Hiring Associate will promote a positive experience for all candidates throughout the hiring process. Working with RVP’s key stakeholders, the individual will contribute to building a high-performance culture and ‘one team’ approach in every restaurant. Strong communication skills, and the ability to liaise with peers and leadership to carry out the full range of duties and responsibilities, are also crucial. Principal accountabilities will vary dependent on market and business requirements which would drive the percentage of time throughout the year.
The person in this position will have the following major responsibilities:
Overall Strategy
- Building strong relationships with General Managers across the patch to understand restaurant staffing needs.
- Execute recruitment and retention plans to support fully staffed restaurants
- Conduct market research around patch of restaurants to understand competitive landscape to ensure RVP is providing competitive pay and benefits
- Recruitment Activities
- Responsible for generating applications to drive sufficient numbers and quality of candidates to deliver on required staffing outcomes.
- Develops and Supports key Recruitment programs to drive applicants to RVP restaurants
- Collaborate with other hiring associates and the RVP People Staffing lead to improve recruiting processes
- Participate in job fairs and other organized company hiring events
- Ensure consistent hiring message is being utilized in all recruiting materials (in restaurant, on-line, etc.)
- Hiring Activities
- Utilize McDonald’s McHire application to identify and process all applicants
- Communicate with candidates to schedule interviews
- Conduct interviews by person, phone or video
- Evaluate resumes and applications to identify and advance candidates through recruiting process
- Manage hiring process for all candidates including onboarding via McHire
- Ensures 100% compliance for work authorization documentation and I-9 forms
- Conduct reference checks
- Prepare welcome packets for all new hires
- Turn in weekly reporting and participate in weekly patch meetings with Area Supervisor
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:
- 1-2 years recruitment experience in retail, hospitality or food service industry
- Strong sourcing skills and ability to leverage current recruitment technology
- Ability to conduct various types of interviews
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills, along with strong technical skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access).
- Knowledge of recruitment market practices and trends
- Results driven, very high sense of urgency
- Ability to work across multiple restaurants and the proven ability to develop long-term client relationships
- Ability to create and implement a plan
- Ability to build partnerships across various functions.
- Ability to work in a collaborative manner and develop strong working relationships with colleagues.

Schedule
- Primary schedule for the role is Monday to Friday from 9am-5pm working in the restaurants. However, expectation is that if night and weekend hours are required to effectively achieve goals those hours are to be worked. Candidate should anticipate weekend and nighttime hours on occasion.
