Job Description:
The Materials Supervisor will ensure the smooth and efficient flow of materials throughout manufacturing operations. Reporting directly to the Senior Materials Manager, and will be responsible for overseeing the production scheduler, production coordinator, and PM and purchasing coordinator. The Materials Supervisor primary focus will be on working cross-functionally with inventory, warehouse, and production to maintain optimal inventory levels, coordinating production schedules, and ensuring timely procurement of materials to support production targets.
Job Responsibilities:
· Identify opportunities for process improvements within the materials management and production scheduling functions.
· Implement best practices and standard operating procedures to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
· Continuously monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
· Oversee the procurement, storage, and distribution of raw materials, components, and finished goods.
· Partner with the inventory department to develop and implement inventory control procedures to optimize inventory levels while minimizing carrying costs.
· Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and resolve any supply chain issues that may arise.
· Monitor inventory levels and production schedules to anticipate material requirements and prevent shortages or overages.
· Collaborate with production teams to develop and maintain accurate production schedules based on customer demand and inventory levels.
· Allocate resources effectively to meet production targets while minimizing downtime and maximizing efficiency.
· Adjust production schedules as needed to accommodate rush orders, material shortages, or changes in demand.
· Provide leadership to the team, set clear performance expectations and provide ongoing feedback and coaching to support professional development, and foster a collaborative and positive work environment that encourages teamwork and innovation.
· Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, quality assurance, and warehouse, inventory, and procurement, to ensure alignment of goals and priorities.
· Collaborate with the Senior Materials Manager and other stakeholders to develop and execute strategic initiatives to enhance materials management processes and drive operational excellence.
Qualifications:
· Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field.
· Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in materials management or production planning in a manufacturing environment.
· Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and develop a team.
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
· Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
· Solid understanding of supply chain management principles and best practices.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and levels of the organization.
Physical Requirements:
· Extended periods of sitting up to 50% of the time.
· Constantly operating computers and office equipment. Multiple daily transactions in the system.
· Occasional lifting up to 60 pounds.

Pay: $72,000.00 - $88,000.00 per year
