WHAT TO EXPECT

The Materials Manager is responsible for managing materials and production process, so that customer expectations are fulfilled with quality products in a safety driven culture. The Materials Manager while utilizing systematic processes to meet ISO 9001, OHSASA 18001 must achieve continuous improvement for long term enhancements of our competitive position. Scope of the role includes purchasing, receiving, customer service, planning, scheduling, and tool crib activities.

Key Responsibilities (to name a few)

  • Responsible for product and material control for the plant.
  • Manages direct reports who review sales orders, perform customer service activities, manufacturing schedules and inventory control records to determine quantities of and delivery schedules for raw materials and purchased parts required to sustain scheduled production.
  • Provides leadership, coaching, and mentoring of area or line supervisors reporting to them.
  • Prepare and distribute various required reports and/or statistics. Processes documents through internal systems.
  • Other tasks or duties as assigned.
  • 5% of travel

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Will manage direct reports and have responsibility for performance management and day-to-day coaching to ensure success of the materials team.

ABOUT YOU

  • BS/BA or equivalent (8 years of experience) with 3 years specific experience.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Requires solid understanding of areas managed and working knowledge of related areas and/or demonstrated general management skills.
  • Demonstrated basic knowledge of the business in establishing priorities and work plans.
  • Demonstrated works within functional objectives and priorities by management
  • Demonstrated that can implement, interpret and execute policies and recommends modifications.
  • Experience in partnering with business leaders on developing and driving global initiatives.
  • High Level interpersonal and leadership skills; must be able to influence and coach across multiple levels within plants.
  • Ability to staff and develop an effective and capable team.
  • Demonstrated business acumen
  • Change management leadership capability
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Suite and other systems, such as Oracle.
  • Desired skills:
  • APICS certification in Inventory Management
  • APICS certification in Supply chain Planning

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
