Are you a Materials Manager looking for an opportunity to grow? If so, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you, based in our East Granby, Connecticut, location! Under the guidance of the Plant Manager, you will be responsible for all materials management functions - including suppliers and production. You'll ensure maximum customer service, minimum inventory investment, and efficient plant operations as you manage $5 million of spend, annually. You will also have supervisory responsibility for one hourly and three salaried personnel across planning, purchasing, and shipping/receiving.

In This Role Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • Handle all materials management activities including scheduling, purchasing, inventory control, materials movement, supplier performance measurements, logistics, and indirect materials management.
  • Serve as primary contact for the customer service team for all the products shipped from the East Granby facility; collaborating with our Customer Service and Sales teams to ensure adherence to customer requirements and on-time service level performance.
  • Participate in daily/weekly operations meetings to ensure scheduling and manufacturing activities are being met as planned.
  • Own and coordinate our annual physical inventory process.
  • Lead and/or participate in cross-functional projects to drive improvements to inventory accuracy and turnover, vendor on-time delivery, past-due backlog, and customer service levels.
  • Partner with the corporate purchasing team to ensure compliance with our purchasing practices, look for opportunities to reduce raw material pricing, and logistics costs.
  • Maintain metrics and controls for measuring inventory levels, raw materials costs, scheduling attainment, and on-time service levels.

For this Role, You Will Need:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering or another related field
  • At least 3 years' experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment
  • At least 3 years' experience in supply chain
  • Working experience with an ERP system Legal authorization to work in the US.


Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart
  • 3 years' experience managing direct reports
  • Working experience with Oracle ERP system
  • Knowledge of Wire and Cable manufacturing process
  • Planning Certification such as APICS and/or CPM
