Job Description:

The Market & Pricing Risk Analyst is responsible for gathering information, conducting detailed analysis, perform reporting requirements, identify trends and provide recommendations to all levels of management from which key business decisions are made; and ensures accuracy of all reporting and information provided.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes pricing data from various pricing publications, including OPIS, Platts and NYMEX.
  • Demonstrates a solid understanding of pricing analysis and formulation.
  • Maintains daily and monthly pricing analysis.
  • Serves as subject matter expert on pricing analysis, serving as the main point of contact for pricing related questions, various reporting requests, and clearly articulating the findings.
  • Prepares reports analyzing Metroplex and/or Gulf’s position as compared to competitors. Researches and compiles historical information for designated locations.
  • Conducts analysis on patterns and compiles reports on lifting volume. Distributes lifting information to stakeholders and other areas as needed.
  • Provide accurate exposure, mark to market (MTM), and profitability reporting of all transactions as assigned by portfolio.
  • Provide back up for the responsibilities of other Risk Team members.
  • Resolve discrepancies and inaccuracies in contracts by communicating with traders, customers, and brokers; escalate to Sr Team Members as needed.
  • Independently prepare advanced ad-hoc analysis, reports, and presentations on demand.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited University or college in Economics, Business, Finance, Mathematics, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience preferred.
  • Advanced experience using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Experience performing market analysis or financial/statistical data analysis is preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize, take initiative, and resolve issues with a high sense of urgency.
