As the head over the entire Salt Lake City facility at Newrest, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the successful operation of the entire unit. You will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the plant while upholding the highest standards of quality, safety, and financial performance. This individual will be responsible for over 400 team members at the unit. This individual will run a very dynamic operation that includes running a kitchen, overseeing dishwashing, understanding receiving and warehousing, and running a smooth and safe logistical and transportation department. This is a high profile position that will require working off-hours at times due to the 24/7 nature of the airline catering industry.

Required Responsibilities

Leadership and Management

  • Infuse the Newrest culture throughout the facility through the management team and by example
  • Hold managers accountable for meeting expectations and KPI's
  • Mentor and coach managers as needed to ensure performance and adherence to policy and culture
  • Train, coach and mentor managers and other direct reports in an effort to provide a strong talent bench for succession planning purposes and career advancement within the unit and other units throughout the country.
  • Ensure that all policies and procedures are followed by Newrest and client's requirements
  • Communicate effectively with all crew members and team members
  • Hold managers accountable for all expectations
Operations/Logistics

  • Fully responsible for the operations of the entire unit, including production, logistics, supply, safety, quality, personnel and customer service.
  • Ensure that all quality and safety procedures and program are adhered to by everyone.
  • Ensure that all catering needs are met in a timely manner.
  • Meet all KPI's according to customer requirements and KPI standards.
  • Properly plan and foresee issues that may cause delays in timely arrival, poor quality, or safety hazard.
  • Develop and implement operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality.
Finance

  • Review finances with CFO and Country Manager to ensure proper use of fiscal resources.
  • Stay within proposed budget for all items.
  • Drive improvements in productivity, cost reduction, plant output, capacity and waste while continuing to deliver quality products complete and on-time to the customer.
Quality and Safety

  • Ensure that all processes conform to the customer and Newrest specifications
  • Comply at all times with good hygiene and manufacturing practices (eg, hazard analysis and critical control points [HACCP], FIFO)
  • Investigate and complete incidents/accidents documentation
  • Enforce safety processes and legal requirements for all processes
Human Resources

  • Evaluate talent of team members and drive actions to address performance issues and/or behavioral concerns.
  • Enhance employee morale by driving commitment and establishing an environment of trust and respect.
  • Handle employee and management concerns and escalate concerns to the HR department.
Education/Experience Requirements

  • Bachelors in Operations Management, Business Management, or related field
  • 7-10 years' experience in a similar role over an entire manufacturing site with at least 200+ employees.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to pass all required airport security clearances.
  • Proficient in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
  • Understanding and ability to use technological devices.
  • Good attendance records and adaptability to new operating procedures.
  • Awareness of safety risks and effective communication of issues.
  • Knowledge of HACCP standards.
  • Ability to handle pressure and work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
