About this role
In this critical role the MD HR Data & Technology will oversee the portfolio of teams that support the technology and data platform to deliver optimized human capital experiences to FTI Consulting’s 8,000 employees and leaders. The role will lead across the areas of HR enterprise software and data insights and analytics. With that the role will sit at the very center of supporting all aspects of HR operations, working across process swim-lanes and the technology stack to create lean, connected, employee-centric experiences for FTIs global workforce. As part of these responsibilities, this role will also lead the due diligence, selection and implementation of a new enterprise grade HCM software solution that transitions the firm away from a highly distributed, best-of-breed solution stack to a more unified platform that can deliver orders of magnitude better experiences and insights to our employees, HR professionals and business leaders.


What you'll do

Lead HR Information Systems

  • Work with leadership to create a PoV and vision for FTI’s next generation software solution(s) including but not limited to Core HRMS, Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, Total Rewards, Payroll and Service Delivery. Drive the execution of that vision through creating compelling business cases that clearly articulate the need and benefits of new technologies.
  • Create and conduct comprehensive RFIs and RFPs that encompass the needs of the enterprise and evaluate all aspects of potential software vendors including but not limited to functional requirements, technical foundation, implementation methodologies, partnerships, pricing methodology, vendor health and market position, support models including SLAs and KPIs, integrations and extensions, mobile/social capabilities and analytics dashboarding.
  • Similarly, and in parallel to the software selection, this role will also run a similar process to select an integration partner that fits the style and approach FTI will take in its implementation.
  • Drive consensus across key stakeholder groups including the steering committee, HR leadership team, and c-suite executives to get a decision on a software solution and integration partner that drive optimal outcomes – including on time and on budget delivery.
  • Negotiate favorable contract terms and pricing with vendors selected.
  • Hold software providers and integration partners accountable to agreed upon delivery terms and timelines, escalating and resolving any roadblocks that surface during the project.
  • Create robust communication and change management plans that drive understanding and adoption of new digital solutions. Employee uptake of the new technology will be a key determinant of success.
  • Manage the HRIS team to configure, test and deploy new technology solutions in the current stack to key internal customers including the business, HR COEs, and other corporate departments. Aids in managing customer expectations in a way that helps drive planful, proactive, productive conversations that balance business needs with available team capacity and other project priorities.

Lead HR Data Management, Analytics, Reporting

  • Partner across functions to determine FTI’s HR data strategy
  • Lead the development and execution of strategy for tools, technology, processes, and structure required to provide actionable insights that drive the organization forward.
  • Provide strategic and consultative support to Global HR in the areas of people metrics, reporting, and advanced predictive analytics capabilities including the use of AI.
  • Provide strategic guidance on the design and delivery of all HR reporting, dashboards and HR data needed by the organization including requirement gathering, design and testing.
  • Lead the team on creating and maintaining a blueprint of all HR data models and rubrics that drive sound decision making across the HR function. Design and implement a data governance approach for all HR data. Oversee the development and management of quarterly talent plans across the business by creating dashboarding and reporting insights that identify potential problem areas that need attention.

What You Will Need To Succeed

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or technical field relating to HRIS.
  • 10+ years of experience in a leadership role and experience leading multiple teams/engagements around large HRIS/IT projects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Has experience leading multiple project teams or internal departments simultaneously
  • Led at least two global, full HCM suite engagements for companies of 5,000 or more employees and served as the person ultimately accountable for successful delivery.
  • Experience implementing predominant HCM Cloud software packages including Workday, SAP/SuccessFactors and Oracle HCM Cloud.
  • Experience with and understanding of the current HCM software landscape and how modules interplay with each other including but not limited to (Core HCM, Payroll, Talent Acquisition, Workforce Planning, Onboarding, Compensation, Performance & Succession Mgmt., Learning and Analytics).
  • Experience negotiating contracts for $5M-$10M projects with both HCM software companies and integration partners to obtain significant discounts and favorable terms.
  • Has relationships with key software vendors and integration partners along with a set of contacts that can help ensure FTI gets top-grade talent aligned to its implementation.
  • Excellent consultative skills, with the ability to understand business needs and translate those needs to strategies and actionable plans; able to ask tough questions to discern and synthesize issues and develop thoughtful solutions.
  • Ability to embrace and influence change at all levels in the organization through careful listening and incorporating different views as a way obtain buy-in.
  • Experience with both Corporate HRIS leadership roles and full-suite HCM Engagement Leader experience at an integration partner of the aforementioned software suites.
  • Has led the visioning and implementation of data warehousing and visualization technologies (including MS PowerBI) and created data models/catalogues that outline the full set of all HCM data including attributes, purpose/usage, location etc. Has created data governance models and led data governance committees that evaluate/approve changes to the model.
