POSITION PURPOSE / SUMMARY STATEMENT (defines the major functions/purpose of the position):


Reporting to the Sr Manager, Omnichannel Planning, Allocation, and Business Analysis in Boston, the Planning Manager, Omnichannel is responsible for Retail Planning across all DTC (Direct to Consumer) channels. This role is responsible for managing the ASICS brand for Brick and Mortar, owned E-commerce website and marketplaces.

The Planning Manager works in close collaboration with the Buying team by managing open to buys and key item plans to ensure inventory levels are appropriate to hit financial targets. This position will also play a central role in ad hoc reporting and analysis to drive the business forward and ensure the success of ASICS in the DTC space.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

  • Interacts with all levels throughout organization including employees and outside vendors.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and maintain financial plans as it relates to merchandise management including sales, inventory, markdowns, margins and turns for Brick and Mortar, E-Commerce, and Marketplaces.
  • Oversee and manage Open to Buys for all categories through a strong partnership with Sr. Manager of Buying; Regularly partner with Buying Team to align product strategies with financial targets and forecasts and for in season management of sales and inventory including promotion planning and analysis, markdown proposals, and exit strategies.
  • Update forecasts on a weekly basis in order to track progress of key retail KPI’s and analyze the business through ad hoc reporting, including but not limited to markdown analysis, promotion testing, and store assessments.
  • Partner with Marketplace teams on pricing, promotions, and assortments to ensure the business is attaining appropriate operational income targets.
  • Support the requirements of the business as needed to grow Omnichannel initiatives, such as Click and Collect and Ship from Store.
  • Partner with Global and Regional IT teams on new and existing reporting tools to ensure proper information flow.
  • Supervise, train, and develop Planners.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Strong analytical skills and an expert level of knowledge of retail KPI’s and retail math
  • Ability to present plans and results to senior management in a concise and professional manner.
  • Knowledge of resource allocation, planning, and assortment strategies to increase gross margins.
  • Experience with systems similar to SAP, BI systems, StoreForce and Teamwork preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of the athletic industry trends is a benefit.
  • Understanding multiple brands and their current strategies that compete with ASICS.
  • Ability to effectively motivate, engage and foster growth within team members.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 3-years working within a corporate retail environment.
  • Minimum of 2-years working in a Retail Planning position.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant business field or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience managing direct reports, or eaquivalent experience preferred.
  • Experience in any facet of Retail Merchandising, Buying and Allocation will be considered.
  • SAP experience a plus.
  • Knowledge in retail planning systems preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Intermediate to Advanced Excel Skills.
