Because we are an Engineered To Order provider of gas processing equipment, you’ll enjoy leading and mentoring our Purchasing team who are responsible for securing the necessary materials for our projects that vary in scope, design, and function. As our Materials Manager, you will ensure your team operates with a cost effective and team oriented approach to our various ETO gas processing equipment projects.

Key Contributions:

  • Provide direction and uniformity for purchasing all goods/services with the highest value and on-time delivery.
  • Prepare, maintain, and control the AVL.
  • With Quality Assurance, evaluate and ensure that all GasTech suppliers are properly qualified to perform the service or provide the goods requested by purchase order.
  • Manage, control, disposition, and replenish supplier defective material.
  • Direct and manage the inbound freight within the time constraints of the Production Job.
  • Direct and control the WIP raw stock and finished goods staging locations.
  • Provide purchasing and material delivery status and scheduling information to all Departments.
  • Maintain up to date promise dates for major equipment and materials.
  • Conduct material shortage meetings, and material review boards (MRBs) and play a key role in Production Meetings.
  • Purchase manufacturing supplies and equipment and all capital equipment.
  • Control overstock and finished goods inventory.
  • Prepare and stage material purchases to eliminate duplication and to take advantage of quantity discounts.
  • Ensure all Materials activities are compliant with the Quality Systems Manual.
  • Establishing cause and implementing corrective actions for all Material’s Quality incidents.
  • Track critical KPI’s, i.e. cost savings, aging lines released and not purchased, aging PO’s past delivery, PO $ & Lines/week
  • Secure and route proper material and equipment documentation
  • Provide regular employee performance reviews, job training, and job development for the Department.
  • Planning for the elimination of departmental non-conformances or quality incidents.
  • Proper, professional, and consistent housekeeping.
  • Must be able to communicate and effectively deal with all members of the staff.
  • Effectively negotiate supplier relationships to provide the maximum benefit to GasTech
Requirements:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or a similar field is required.
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in ASME code pressure vessel fabrication, 5 of which have been in a supply chain management capacity is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of management experience is required.
  • Firm understanding of the manufacturing build sequence for process plants and ASME code vessels.
  • Firm understanding of piping elements, i.e. elbows, flanges, tees, weld-o-lets, manual valves and grades of materials
  • Understanding of sourcing engineered items such as control valves, instrumentation, etc.
  • A cooperative leadership style and a strong sense of urgency are required.
  • Must be able to work collaboratively with all departments including but not limited to process engineering, project management, engineering, and design.
  • Strong and demonstrable negotiation skills are required, as it pertains to strategic supply chain purchases.
  • Previous experience in purchasing fabrication shop consumables, welding supplies, fixtures, tools, shop supplies, and capital equipment is required. Specifically, structural and plate steel, pipe, flanges, nozzles, fittings, etc.
  • Proficiency with computer applications, including MS Office applications and MRP/ERP systems or their derivatives, is required.
  • The ability to negotiate long-term and short-lead-time procurement contracts is required.
  • A thorough knowledge of purchasing practices, familiarity with local and regional suppliers, and detailed technical knowledge in the manufacture of Oil and Gas Processing Equipment is strongly preferred but not required.
  • Experience in an ISO 9000 environment is preferred but not required.
