What you will enjoy doing*

  • In this role, you will lead the overall procurement activities for indirect commodities for Linde Engineering Americas and coordinate with global counterparts, and its stakeholders, as well as the Linde Gases Procurement organizations to ensure alignment of procurement strategy where material/service synergies exist, and to maximize value to the LEA business
  • You will function as a working Department Leader to set expectations, goals, monitor performance and provide coaching to 1-2 direct reports as well as provide training and continual development for the team
  • You are required to understand, follow and streamline the IMS process 2040.700 "Purchasing of Indirects"
  • Identify and inform all LEA stakeholders about this process, its requirements, instructions, roles, responsibilities, duties and tasks
  • Function as point of contact for any indirect purchasing related for all LEA employees
  • Effective sourcing strategy for LEA-specific indirect commodities
  • Finalize Indirect purchase orders as per the IMS process. Coordinates and maintains the SAP database for indirect purchase orders
  • Closely monitor the market for indirects spend and update price developments
  • Negotiate, issue and continuously update inventory of all indirect (frame) agreements, contracts, purchase orders with and obligations towards suppliers of indirect commodities including the existing basic information (quantities, volumes, locations, time periods,) centrally stores all Frame Agreements, contracts, purchase orders, documents
  • Align with LEHQ/MG GPCEC and Linde Gas on the future strategy and cooperation, e.g. reporting, bundling, common frame agreements, etc
  • Recommendation on staffing and coordination of a sufficient personnel capacity
  • Recommend new processes and lessons learnt where needed to improve quality or on-time delivery
  • Take ownership of indirect spend profile for entities within LEA, to include Canada, LATAM, and South America
  • Work on digitization and automation initiatives
  • Learn and abide by the Linde Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct. Demonstrate honesty, integrity, and professionalism in all communications, actions and decisions

What makes you great

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) and five-ten years’ experience, preferably in a global operating EPC business environment and knowledge of and ability to apply fundamentals of procurement and supplier management
  • Excellent Customer Service and Business Acumen is needed for this role, as well as the ability to identify commercial risk and minimize associated consequences
  • You have excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office, with excellent skills in Excel. and working knowledge of SAP SRM and other Company and discipline specific software applications
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills suit your profile as well as good knowledge of ERP/MRP systems for order entry, tracking fabrication, and checking material availability
  • Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing with superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the organization
  • Effective presentation skills, including organizing and making presentations, and responding to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Travel Percentage: Intermediate, 15%
  • Physical requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit for long periods of time. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Salary Pay Range: 82,950 USD – 154,050 USD
