The opportunity

The QA and Testing Manager will drive quality across IT projects by setting and enforcing quality and testing standards. This role will oversee the testing team, as well as work with project teams and the business to oversee testing and UAT efforts for IT Projects either commercial software implementations, platform implementations or custom development projects.

ESSENTIAL AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Ensure IT projects are delivered with high quality, meet requirements and business objectives
  • Meet with project teams and business groups to set testing expectations including roles/responsibilities
  • Lead UAT phase, including facilitating meetings between business and IT staff
  • Define testing guidelines, standards and best practices
  • Implement and grow test automation and load testing practices
  • Work with scrum teams on development projects to ensure quality
  • Review QA tools and material and update/refresh to keep them up to date
  • Identify process improvements
  • Test environment setup/management – monitor release management to QA environments
  • Manage the QA staff - Provide leadership, coaching, guidance and training
  • Actively participate in planning and estimating
  • Recruit and onboard new QA team members
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with business and other technology partners
  • Participate in project review meetings to determine problem areas and suggest and review corrective actions

This position follows a hybrid schedule working both in the Weston, FL office and remotely.
Your experience and qualifications

Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree is required; master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of in-depth QA software engineering experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of QA leadership experience
  • Experience with agile methodologies (ex. Scrum and Kanban)
  • Experience with test case reviews
  • Performing automation code reviews preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of, or experience in, Cucumber web driver or similar automation tools
  • Knowledge of, or experience with, JIRA and related plugins for test and defect management
  • Thorough understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle and Software Testing Life cycle
