- Manage inventory cycle count program for continuous improvement and inventory accuracy.
- Plan and monitor Work-in-process (WIP) inventory transactions for timeliness and accuracy, while facilitating cost reductions and maintenance of material flow
- Identify and develop strategic areas of opportunity to improve the manufacturing systems’ data.
- Develop planning/reporting tools to improve manufacturing response to customer requirements and scheduling needs.
- Communicate with purchasing and other departments in the supply chain to meet the production plan.
- Monitor material availability & launch manufacturing orders as appropriate.
- Drive efforts to reduce past due backlog and improve on time performance at the departmental level and reduce inventory.
- Understand and manage Material Requirements Planning (MRP) tools.
- Participate in improvement efforts to implement Continuous Improvement Processes (CIP).
- Contribute to Engineering Change (EC) implementation.
- Assist with training of inventory control personnel planners, stock clerks, receiving, shipping clerks for “best practices” supporting manufacturing and the production plan
- Reduce obsolescence and ensure that the disposition of all scrap/rework is handled in a timely fashion.
BS degree or equivalent business experience
Must have five to ten years’ experience in a manufacturing environment working in a purchasing, cost-accounting, or inventory management function. Strong computer, organizational skills and leadership skills required, as well as the ability to communicate both written and orally.
