We are looking for a full time Maintenance Technician to undertake the responsibility to preserve the good condition and functionality of premises and equipment. This is a Union Position. You will perform a variety of maintenance tasks including troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining all plant equipment and facilities. A Maintenance Technician is a thorough professional with a practical mind and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will be able to work autonomously and responsibly by observing all health and safety guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Survey buildings and repair mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards
- Perform maintenance and repairs of electrical systems
- Assist in the setup of ventilation, refrigeration and other systems and conduct repairs when necessary
- Maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality
- Conduct general upkeep procedures and other tasks as assigned (painting, carpentry etc.)
- Install, maintain and repair machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems in the facility.
- Set up and use of machine tools such as grinder, drill press and welders to repair or fabricate parts.
- Troubleshoot issues, repair failures of production and facility equipment to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
- Complete assigned work orders.
- Maintain maintenance area in a clean and orderly fashion.
- Utilize maintenance systems as necessary to complete daily, weekly, monthly duties.
- Operate material handling equipment safely.
- Enter information in the systems to document work order completion.
- Provide support to team in the predictive and preventative maintenance program.
- Participate and actively support all plant initiatives.
- Organize and define tasks with minimal supervision.
- Follow established programs, policies and practices to produce safe quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements.

Skills
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Proven experience as maintenance technician
- Proficient knowledge and ability in welding, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods
- Working knowledge of tools, and machinery
- Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills
- Certificate or degree in HVAC, Electrical, Welding, or building maintenance technology is a plus
- Strong attention to detail with high degree of accuracy and precision
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Strong planning, prioritization, and organizational skills
- Ability to meet deadlines with limited supervision
- Basic computer use, knowledge, and skills
- Self-motivated and self-directed
- Flexible to work any shift as needed
This is a full time position. Hours and days will vary. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and possible substantial noise levels.
