ABOUT THIS POSITION


Approximately 48 million passengers traveled through Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport in 2023, one of the busiest airports in the country in the nation's 5th largest city. Sky Harbor is the largest of three airports in the Phoenix Airport System (Phoenix Sky Harbor, Deer Valley, and Goodyear airports) which is operated by the City of Phoenix Aviation Department and has an economic impact of $38 billion annually.

The Aviation Department has a vacancy for a Maintenance Planner/Scheduler position. This role will be responsible for the effective execution of all maintenance control processes required to develop an effective and efficient work plan for preventative maintenance and repair work for various work groups within the Facilities and Services Division. This position will plan and schedule work processes and materials, primarily using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).

This position plays a key role in improving the efficiency, quality, and productivity of work for the Aviation Department Facilities Division. The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler position supports the management team in planning, tracking, analyzing, and reporting the work conducted within each assigned section. This position will provide various degrees of support to maintain existing facilities associated with Sky Harbor International Airport, Deer Valley Airport and Goodyear Airport. Work hours may vary and include nights, weekends, and holidays. The Aviation Maintenance Planner/Scheduler will report to an Aviation Superintendent or Aviation Supervisor III. This position will be assigned to the Airfield Maintenance Section.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Knowledge of FAA Part 139 regulations.
  • Ability to prepare and present comprehensive reports with recommendations.
  • Ability to track, monitor progress and plan resolutions to all airfield marking discrepancies.
  • Familiar with safety management and environmental compliance.
  • Familiar with implementing and maintaining an asset maintenance strategy plan.
  • Familiar with preparing and presenting comprehensive reports with recommendations or needed changes utilizing data analyzed from various systems.
  • Familiar with planning and scheduling maintenance in an industrial or large commercial setting such as airports, military bases, large campuses or large fleet environments.
  • Computer literacy skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.

SALARY


Pay Range: $28.17 to $43.71 per hour.

Hiring Range: $28.17 to $35.96 per hour.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Three years of skilled trades experience in electrical, HVAC, building maintenance, or operations and maintenance of a water/wastewater treatment plant, facility, or system, including proficiency using a computerized maintenance management system.
  • OR Three years of skilled experience planning and scheduling in fields such as electric utilities, property management, chemical manufacturing, large-scale manufacturing and high-tech manufacturing or other industrial setting.
  • Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
  • Working outside in a variety of environmental extremes such as heat, cold, and rain, when required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


The minimum qualifications listed above, plus:

  • Experience with environmental compliance.
  • Experience with the City of Phoenix or other procurement process.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs, tracking, analyzing, and reporting.
  • Experience coordinating activities with contractors and stakeholders to accomplish work tasks.
  • Experience with drafting, evaluating, and implementing detailed standard operating procedures.
  • Experience using an Oracle based computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) or other work order system.
