OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Maintenance Planner to join our team. As a Maintenance Planner, you will be responsible for coordinating and scheduling maintenance activities to ensure an efficient operation. This is a critical role that requires strong leadership skills, technical knowledge, and the ability to work collaboratively with various teams.
The Planner is responsible for processing customer specific work packages. Ensures completion of, but not limited to; work order package preparation, extracting of task card contents for resource planning, identify task card revisions and conveyance of changes, ensure completeness of ERP data, and maintain updating of source files (database). Ensure scope changes that occur during active maintenance projects, including man-hour and span time adjustments, are conveyed in a timely manner. Prepare and host the pre and post induction meetings. Provide support to functional parties in terms of ERP reports and work order contents, such as but not limited to; technical evaluation of the work package, task planning, resource demand planning (labor, parts, tools, engineering, etc.), recommendation of improvement events, establish targets (performance and cost), and preparation of flow plan/milestones. Verify process compliance with documentation review and data entry of tasks. Assist in the preparation of proposals. Develops and implements processes to improve and streamline planning related functions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Perform a technical evaluation of the customer’s work package.
a. Evaluate project span time.
b. Evaluate needed resource requirements for labor, parts, tools, etc.
c. Evaluate AD/SB documents.
d. Evaluate modification documents and drawings.
e. Develop man-hours estimates as necessary following task billing rules.
2. Develop performance and cost targets for the work package.
3. Prepare task level project flow plan/milestones.
4. Prepare task level labor plan.
5. Coordinate with relevant departments on work package requirements.
6. Identify and communicate resource shortages and capability constraints to the management team.
7. Manage subcontract work in relation to work package requirements.
8. Communicate work package alterations and price changes and submit change recommendations.
9. Maintain, update and enhance existing databases containing labor hours, special access information, materials and tooling requirements at a task level.
10. As required, prepare and submit task estimates for review.
11. Understand and speak to contractual obligations.
12. Communicate with customer representatives and Avex management as necessary concerning contract status, changes in work scopes and pricing.
13. Write new or update existing departmental policies and procedures.
14. Generate necessary periodic or special reports as directed.
15. Performs other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE:
Academic
Associate degree in aircraft maintenance technology or a related discipline preferred, or equivalent background providing knowledge of appropriate business and technical principles and procedures. High school diploma or GED required.
Languages
Must be fluent in spoken and written English. Spanish a plus.
Special Licenses
FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certificate in good standing preferred.
Previous Experience
Minimum (5) years of experience in the aviation industry. Prefer experience related to contracts and/or planning estimation.
Technical Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project. Perform daily transactions within AvEx ERP system as well as customer programs.
