Employment Information

Mechanics are responsible to the Manager or Supervisor at stations where assigned and The Manager of Maintenance Control at lesser stations. This position requires certification under FAR Part 65, subparts D, E and/or acceptable training or experience. A minimum of one year documented verifiable experience or acceptable training on Transport Category Aircraft (including military types) is preferred. [FAR: 65. Subpt-D, 65. Subpt-E]

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • The proper and timely completion of assigned tasks in accordance with the policies and procedures set forth in this Manual.
  • Possessing the requisite mechanical skills and integrity to perform aircraft maintenance to the standards required by 21 Air.
  • The proper completion of all paperwork related to assigned tasks.
  • Use of approved or accepted data such as AMM, SRM, IPC, etc.
  • Adhering to AWR, Run and Taxi, and other specific authorizations including the entry of AWR in the logbook.
  • Adhering to policy and procedure contained in other manuals such as the Fueling, Deice, and Standard

Practices Manuals.

  • Proper use of work interruption/turnover procedures.
  • Adhering to safety procedures such as Lock out Tag out Procedures Providing necessary information to his supervisor for shift turnovers or enter the information in shift turnover reports in the absence of supervision.
  • Possessing and maintaining adequate number and quality of tools necessary to perform assigned tasks.
  • Identify and notify the inspection department of RII requirements.
  • Understanding and applying the Chapters of this manual which apply to his/her position.
  • Monitors personal duty time when volunteering for overtime, day trade, shift swap or additional work to ensure compliance with FAR 121.377 and company policy.
  • When acting as an Authorized RII inspector ensures all RII requirements are in accordance with GMM policy and procedures.
  • Performing such other duties as directed by the GMM and other company produced manuals, and as directed by Manager of Maintenance Control or the Director, Maintenance.
