Job Summary
Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
  • Grades and sorts of softwood SPF and SYP in accordance with third party TP / SPIB inspection requirements
  • Moves and secures lumber products and other materials according to instructions
  • Stacks finished products according to predetermine bundle sizes and/or customer requirements
  • Labels material based on type, size and count, and following specifications
  • Applies individual tags to material before/after treating/production
  • Uses a staple gun and troubleshoots equipment
  • Bands, bundles and secures material, including attaching corner protectors and loading sticks
  • Follows instructions for stacking material properly and according to company policy and customer requirements
  • Ensures correct quantities and material are strapped, labeled before leaving the work area
  • Maintains accurate inventory of tags and reports any problems or discrepancies to supervisor
  • Records production on production sheets
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area
  • Assist other work areas moving material, loading and unloading material carts
  • Participates in safety, CI and other programs and meetings

Qualifications
  • High school diploma/GED is preferred but not required.
  • Certification in lumber grading preferred, however non-certified graders will be considered if already in process of training and can be certified
  • No minimum experience is required, but manufacturing or lumber experience is preferred
  • 3-5 years of related experience in lumber grading is preferred
  • Working knowledge of basic math
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
Compensation & Benefit Information:
Hourly/Salary Pay Range: $20.00 - 22.00 hourly. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by experience and other job-related factors.
Bonus/Incentive Pay: Incentive pay may be available for certain job roles and may include piece rate incentives, weekly production bonuses, trip rates, and employee referral bonuses. A discretionary annual bonus based on Company and business unit performance may also be provided.
