Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Local Driver to join our team. As a Local Driver, you will be responsible for transporting goods and materials to various locations within a designated area. This position requires heavy equipment operation, route driving, and manual transmission driving skills.

Duties:
- Safely operate a variety of vehicles, tractor trailers, long combination vehicle, straight-body trucks and refrigerated trailers

-Plan trip logistics and obtain required documentation to transport goods

-Perform pre-trip, enroute and post-trip inspection of vehicle systems, equipment and accessories such as tires, lights and turning signals, brakes and cold storage

-Ensure cargo is secured properly in accordance with safety requirements and follow safety procedures for transporting goods.
- Follow assigned routes and schedules to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical issues and perform basic automotive repairs as necessary
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while operating company vehicles
- Maintain accurate records of hours of service, deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents or delays

-Administer bills of lading and manually or electronically maintain log books

-Load and unload goods and materials using forklifts or other equipment as needed

-May perform emergency roadside repairs

-May drive as part of a two-person team or convoy

-May transport hazardous products or dangerous goods.
- Communicate with dispatchers or supervisors to report any issues or delays during deliveries

Requirements:
- Valid driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Minimum 3 year's of proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role
- Ability to operate heavy equipment, such as forklifts or roll-off trucks
- Familiarity with manual transmission vehicles
- Strong knowledge of local roads and routes within the designated area
- Excellent time management skills to ensure on-time deliveries
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks as required
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills

Pay: $23.00 per hour
