SUMMARY: The Lead Mechanic oversees the maintenance tasks in the service, repair, and overhaul of aircraft to insure airworthiness. Ensures timely completion of tasks and provides training and mentorship for an assigned function area. Assists with Maintenance Supervisor responsibilities for short periods of time.
REQUIRED SHIFT: FRIDAY-MONDAY 5AM-3:30PM
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensures all tasks are promptly completed in compliance with federal regulations, customer guidelines and company policies.
- Reviews required customer and FAA paperwork to ensure proper maintenance updates and compliance with applicable regulations and customer requirements.
- Leads the maintenance, preventative maintenance, or alteration of, or approve and return to service, any aircraft, or part thereof, only for which that Lead is rated and has satisfactorily performed the work concerned at an earlier date.
- Performs maintenance tasks as required and becomes an active member of the crew.
- Conducts crew meetings to ensure communication regarding work, safety, and quality.
- Uses technical data to order parts and ensure material is effective for aircraft being installed on. Ensures all parts for specialty area are ordered in a timely manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of four (4) years’ recent commercial aircraft maintenance and/or MRO experience preferred.
- Applicable Repairman, Airframe, or Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certification required.
PHYSICAL EFFORT AND DEXTERITY:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to sit, stand, and walk; use their hands and arms; and talk or hear; and focus on objects close up. The employee may be required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee may also be required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
Compensation
The full base pay range for this position is $30.00 – $44.50 (expressed as hourly for non-exempt), exclusive of benefits or potential bonuses. The lower end of the range represents the target base pay for those beginning or developing in the role. The higher end of the range is intended for those who have mastered the role, with proven significant expertise, high achievement, and specialized skills. If you are hired at ATS, your hourly rate will be based on factors including skills, education, and experience. In addition to those factors – we consider internal equity of our current employees when determining offers. This position is eligible for an annual bonus.
