Title: Jr. Quality Assurance Manager - Aerospace / Aviation / Manufacturing
Reports to: VP of Quality
Reporting Departments/Processes: Quality, Safety, Compliance, Facility
Position Summary:
The Jr. Quality Assurance Manger is responsible for the improvement and discipline of quality, maintaining AS9100 certification and for the overall management of quality functions through development, implementation and monitoring of policies and procedures consistent with organizational requirements. Manages and participates in quality activities in the department to improve the processes, procedures, methods, and materials used in the production processes while ensuring product quality is maintained and striving for continuous improvement. The Jr. Quality Assurance Manager will represent the Company and its values and will ensure that the expectations of the Company’s customers are exceeded by performing the following duties:
Jr. Quality Assurance Manager Duties and Responsibilities:
- Management Representative of AS9100 QMS, will assume role of Responsible Manager if FAA approvals are granted.
- Hires and manages the Quality Team, including inspectors and various indirect reports such as quality auditors, administrators, and facilities personnel.
- Plan and direct the activities of the department, provide support and guidance, ensure product and/or process quality and conformance.
- Develops, implements, and evaluates production operations from a strategic quality perspective to ensure that products meet quality, integrity, functionality, and customer & regulatory specifications and requirements.
- Collaborates with management and senior staff to draft acceptable quality standards and processes.
- Ensures the Company’s suppliers and materials meet all required performance standard.
- Responsible for continued certification of the Quality Management System.
- Responsible for resource allocation and planning within the Quality, facilities, and maintenance teams.
- Ensures all machinery & equipment are operational.
- Track KPI’s, measures such as Cost of Poor Quality and Non-conformances to be analyzed and made into actionable data.
- Perform root cause and corrective action evaluations, resulting in a more robust process and/or QMS.
- Coordinate activities required for continued AS9100 certification including internal auditing, preventative & corrective action systems, ensuring completion and maintenance of Quality records, documentation, and test data.
- Coordinates the daily activities of the Quality Engineers & Quality Inspectors and provides supervision, work direction and training coordination for inspection of aerospace products/parts, ensuring compliance to all contractual and regulatory requirements.
- Conducts customer and supplier visits/audits as required to confer on both general and specific quality requirements/needs.
- Maintains, trains, and enforces FOD program.
- Maintains, trains, and enforces Safety program.

- Proficient with Smartsheet or similar project software
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Qualifications:
- BS or equivalent experience
- 5+ Years of experience in Quality Management in manufacturing, aerospace preferred.
- 5+ years experience in or familiar with FAA authorized environments such as 14 CFR Part 21 and/or Part 145 a PLUS.
- 2+ years experienced implementing AS9145, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)
- 1+ years experience in NIST 800-171 and CMMC compliance standards & processes, preferred
- AQMS Auditor preferred.
Work Environment Requirements:
- Full-Time, Non-Exempt Position.
- Domestic travel to customer sites and trade conferences.
- Possible International travel; must be able to obtain a passport.
- Must be eligible for government clearance.
