Responsibilities

Job Overview and Scope:
Support the team in management of a portfolio of client relationships (existing and new) as well as in development expansion of these relationships. Main responsibility in first two years consist of company analysis, ongoing monitoring of financial reporting, ensuring compliance with financial metrics as well as broader policy and procedures. The analyst assists in drafting financing/credit proposals; work with relationship managers to obtain approvals from senior management and credit group, assist in closing deals, incl legal reviews. Monitor completed transactions, account reporting, recommend improvements, ensure data quality on clients in all banks systems. Adhere to Culture and Conduct requirements. Analyst is frequently assigned to various deal teams.

Responsibilities:

Portfolio Management / Credit Monitoring / Analysis:

  • Monitor and report on account compliance and financial performance of assigned portfolio accounts. Learn the business and clients.
  • Identify and report on operating and compliance variances to team management credit function and obtain requisite approvals from senior management for credit amendment(s).
  • Analyze transactions, perform core due diligence processes, write credit analysis and ultimately full credit proposal – all in support of deal leaders.
  • Perform annual reviews of relationships. Co-ordinate with other deal participants / banks.
  • Participate in legal documentation processes.
  • Generate ongoing questions to discuss with clients.
  • Monitor revenues and returns generated by the bank on individual clients / transactions.
  • Ensure data quality integrity for the assigned portfolio; and compliance with internal and external policies and procedures.
  • Handle legal documentation where/when appropriate.
  • Handle administrative requirements around closing / deal renewal processes.
  • Develop effective working relationships with other departments (including credit group) and product specialists to incorporate their expertise in client management.
  • Build business relationships with clients, industry peers, other banks and applicable industry associations. When appropriate participate in industry seminars and conferences to foster business networking and deal generation.
  • Advise on portfolio developments and new opportunities.

Group Description
The TSC Group is an integral part of Global Banking and Advisory (GLBA) division of Societe Generale and provides financing and other services to a client base consisting of large and medium sized commodity merchants with a global or geographical specific footprint. The team in New York covers entities with operations in the Americas - mostly North America.

Skills, Knowledge, Attributes Requirement:

  • Starter position with work / intern experience in finance - Business/Accounting/Math/Science degree.
  • Analytic/systematic thinker, strong ability to identify core issues in business models and transactions.
  • Understands financial statements/accounting: balance sheet, income statement, cash flow
  • Experience in quantifying and qualifying business and financial risk.
  • Some knowledge of corporate finance and financial market products.
  • High-level competency in computer-based financial analysis and presentation (Microsoft Office)
  • Team player creative, persistent, high energy, confident, results-oriented, good communicator, strong writing skills and committed to achieving objectives.
  • Outgoing personality.
  • Committed to meet deadlines.

COMPENSATION & SALARY RANGE:

Base salary range does not include overtime pay, bonus and/or other benefits, where applicable. Actual base salary offer will vary based on skills and experience.
